Fine by me; I never called anybody a murderer like you do.

I've been watching the platform meetings on C-span.

Have you ever asked yourself why you never get one in the mail anymore?

They have to bury it before it stinks up the room after they print it. They have done all they can to keep it low key and out of the publics eye for several election cycles, as it keeps getting more and more Theocratic and moralistic and loses touch with reality. It does not even pass Constitutional muster any longer.

And you wonder why the party is all screwed up......:-)

It's just a lot of hot air and A-political wishes by every crackpot who claims voting power.

You should see the democrat's platform! LOL!.......All useless political pander.

Mr. Robinson, if you are indeed listening, I must protest, sir. If you continue allow this obnoxious internecine gamesmanship you will destroy everything you have worked for these last dozen years.

Mr. Robinson, I would like to concur with youngjim. I am extremely disappointed in the tone this site has taken over the last few months. I have always been amazed at how fair this place has been, and how open it was to many conservative and libertarian viewpoints. That has changed and folks are running in packs intent on destroying, rather than debating, the opposition. To call 68grunt a liberal is embarrassing and way over the top.

I realize that politics is hardball. But destroying coalitions and allowing this kind of behavior before this thing really even gets started is exceptionally dangerous. Discussing any of these possible candidate in an echo chamber will simply weaken us all and I am seeing many good posters, some of whom I disagree heartily with at times, are disappearing leaving only flame wars and name calling.

We all expect this place to be rough and tumble during primary season, but I would hope you would lead by example and not send it further into chaos and irrelevancy.

Brits don't get a vote here, silly!

It's a screen name, ace.

Of course, Margaret Thatcher herself wouldn't pass muster with your ilk.

At least they are admitting that Rudy is a RINO. The next step is to nominate real Republicans.

Hey Al, Common Tator called Ronald Reagan a RINO on several occasions. You think Reagan was a RINO, Al? In reality, it was Common Tator who was the real RINO.

Oh yeah, here is just one of those occasions.

"What Reagan did was vote for Franklin Delano Roosevelt 3 times. Harry S. Truman once, Stevenson twice, and JFK once.. Demcorats all. Reagan in his life time voted for far more Democrats than Repubicans.

Reagan ran in 1980 on an economic pollicy he openly credited to JFK. What would Reagan do? For most of his life he suported Democrats with contributions and voted for Democrats. Reagan ran in 1980 as a RINO former actor's union president and Hollywood insider."

Btw, Common Tator was ALL wrong about Reagan. Reagan was no RINO. Reagan voted for Eisenhower twice in 52&56, not the Democrat Stevenson, and Reagan voted for Nixon in 1960, not JFK. As was the case with Common Tator on many occasions, he didn't get it right.

I've been called many things on this forum, but a murderer takes the cake.

I'd like to see it immortalized for all time! Too bad CP is down, or they'd be a copy of it for the world to see!

That's what they all need a dose of, imo. A serious intervention is required.

She is a lady of class. She'd be pissed knowing someone like you was using her name for a screen name. Well, not really, but you get my point.

..many of our friends are gripped by the "politics of fear"

The fear of Hillary
The fear of Al-Qaeda

Anything else is declared unimportant, divisive, and secondary--not having temporal and eternal consequences...

Trust me on this: Whatever you do in your discussions stop making this site look like a primary for the Westboro Baptist Church crowd, because that is what internal polling shows about the forthcoming DLC attack plan...make as many independents and moderates think of anyRepublican nominee as an ignorant knuckledragging misspelled sign carrying 'God Hates Fags' flame throwing baby killer (I know that last is impossible to fathom...but that is how it happens to fall.)

There is something very Westboro about many Rudy haters here.

Well, I am rather shocked to see so many FReepers and Republicans in full support of and actually arguing FOR the liberal/socialist positions on abortion, gay rights, gun control, first amendment restrictions, global warming. insecure borders, and other leftist issues.

This was your post and calling my attention to discussion about compromise in no way answers my question to you. Can you point me to a freeper in "full support of and actually arguing for...".

The answer is, of course, that you can't do it.

If we're unable to honestly assess the mood of the country, and rally behind a leader acceptable to the majority, we'll lose. As of this thread, it seems that conservativism in general doesn't care about doing either of those things.

Good grief, what a helluva way to select the leader of the free world...

You are right though, the party IS in trouble.
