Hillary Vs. Rudy

snip/National upshot: Rudy's electoral vote position against Hillary is much stronger than Bush's against Kerry. Rudy puts almost the whole East into play and is significantly stronger in several target states in the Midwest and West. Hillary puts some states into play in the South but with many fewer electoral votes than Rudy does elsewhere. Even if you assume that Hillary is stronger against Rudy today than she was in July, the pairing does place the Republicans in a stronger position than Bush was in '04.

"Suppose neither of them get the nomination?
A concept almost totally lost on this forum lately.
I have believed all along that Rudy will not get the nomination and after this past week, I done't believe that Hillary will be there, either.

LOL! Make that 42% more Rudybots!

---"So are you saying Independent voters and Reagan Democrats will vote for Hillary instead?"---
I'm saying not enough of them are going to come over to Rudy, and just Rudy, to make up the losses on the right. Rudy isn't exactly Reagan, and the Socially Conservative union types who loved Reagan aren't going to be much pleased with a Free-Trading Social Liberal who hates guns.
Remember, Bush was able to lose Independents by a whopping 9% and still win the Presidency, just by turning out the base. That's a severe thumping by the Independents. Which leads one to ask: If you can lose the Indies in a landslide and still win by unifying the base, why adopt a strategy that severs a good chunk of the base in favor of trying to win over the Independents?
To win the base, you just have to be consistent on the issues that matter; to win the independents, you have to be an auctioneer with an open wallet.

I've seen it so so so many times - 'rather have Hillary than vote for....' 'I'll sit it out and let Hillary win'. They are so obvious, much like their hero.
Besides which, conservatives are not defeatist. Funny how clueless they are as they 'out' themselves. Then add their constant name calling - it doesn't equal conservative.

The Suicide Conservatives just sent out a press release cheering the fact that Duncan Hunter just hit 2% in the latest Quinnipiac poll. It's a groundswell of support, I tell ya...Hunter's hardcore supporters here are starting to remind me of the Brigadier FReepers who were convinced that Pat Buchanan was going to win the Presidency in 2000.
If Hunter can prove he can raise the money and his name recognition nationally, I'll give him serious consideration. Until then, he's the Dennis Kucinich of the GOP: a fringe candidate.
Finally, I'm not a Rudybot, in fact I'm hoping some new candidate jumps in because I'm not wild about Rudy or Romney and I despise McCain. But if it comes down to Rudy vs. Hitlery, I'll be waiting for the polls to open to vote for Rudy. Her Heinousness has already said that her first act as C-in-C will be to withdraw from Iraq, even if the job isn't finished. I hope the Suicide Conservatives remember that when they sit at home or vote for some third party candidate....

Yeah being 'true conservatives" back in 92' played well for us. I know Bubba was much much better then Bush the elder. Many even tried again in 04' in a time of WAR no less!

So, your going to replace Hellory with a RINO that has all the same stances on nearly all the issues.
Will somebody tell me why we have a two party system if there is zero difference between them...
Either way I get:
Gun control
Gay Agenda
Distain for the BOR
No moral code
No boarder control
Oh, one is tax & spend and the other is borrow & spend...

The war in Iraq was mismanaged for four years
- Saddam, et al are either dead or in prison
- Iraqis voting for the first time
- Many living in freedom for the first time -
- 800 hundred schools have been built by our troops.
Bush did quite well for mismanaging. Saddam's previous general was on radio last night and spoke of other positives happening over there. He had nothing but praise for Bush and our troops. Iran is infiltrating the northern part of Iraq - they need more troops but only for a brief time.
Give credit where credit is due.

In order to know you must see - if you can't see the difference between Hillary and Rudy - no one can open your eyes for you.
Homework assignment: List Hillary's accomplishments.

Whomever is nominated, I predict 2008 will usher in a new era of politics. Elections will not be the same as years ago.

Michael Barone is one of the most thoughtful, accurate, objective people who write about polls and politics.
His analysis shows why Rudy is such a strong candidate, the strongest, in fact, against Hillary.
The Dims are terrified of Rudy. They're desperate and don't know how to deal with a candidate like Rudy, so they try and smear him and trick voters into hating him.
If Rudy is the best candidate who can keep Her Heinous, Queen Hillary from claiming her throne, so be it.
STOP HILLARY NOW!

People think since the MSM is so sure Obama is going to win, and if just look back at 04, Dean was going to as well. Kerry wasn't even considered. I think most of us should know by now, the MSM haven't been able to read the public's opinion for a very long time.
I don't think either Obama or Hillary will make a "And we are going to the White house... YAAAW" shoutout. but in an effort to be more antiwar, I having a feeling Hillary is more likely yo say something that burns her most.
To: Fierce Allegiance
Let's get through the primaries before we play this scenario. If we really don't want to be naieve we must make sure that an analysis of who can beat Hillary or Osama Obama or etc, is part of the Primary Process.

Hillary is hated by a large percentage of the American electorate. Literally hated, and IMO, for good reason.
Rudy, on the other hand is admired from both sides, and even though he doesn't come in as a gold star conservative would pull a lot of votes from the "anyone but Hillary" voters.
Obama would have a better chance then Hillary.

It sounds more like you are voting against Hillary not for Rudy. I just want somebody I can vote for, it doesn't have to be Hunter but it cannot be Rudy.
