I don't know about you, but I doubt the Christian conservatives throughout the red state farm belt and especially down in the South are going to cotton to a liberal New York Yankee coming down to try to clean up crime by taking their guns and bringing abortion and gay unions (gay marriage) into their families, schools and churches.
Ronald Reagan's conservative son, Michael, thinks it's time Republicans drop the litmus tests and thinks Rudy wuold make a good president.

That is what I was talking about. Nothing in the beliefs of a Rudy Giuliani prevents him from supporting returning the issue of abortion to the states.
How much political capital do you think he will expend to overturn Roe?

if you look at the polls analytically - they will tell you that formula won't get it done in 2008.
Bush maximized turnout and margin amongst the base in 2004. We won by one state. Had Bush won in 2004 with 45 states, these "top 3" candidates in the primaries now, wouldn't even be in the race.
Hispanics are going more Dem, so is Generation Y (young voters). Put Richardson on the Dem ticket, add new turnout amongst young single women voting for Hillary, add dissatisfaction with Iraq amongst Independents - tell me where we go to get the votes to overcome that, using the same formula Bush used in 2004?
The numbers are just not there.

Giuliani, more than any other candidate (Romney comes the closest) has the record of taking on major institutions and reforming them. Think about tourist magnet that is New York now. When Rudy Giuliani took office, 59% of New Yorkers said they would leave the city the next day if they could. Under Rudy Giuliani’s leadership as Mayor of the nation’s largest city, murders were cut from 1,946 in 1993 to 649 in 2001, while overall crime – including rapes, assaults, burglary and auto-thefts – fell by an average of 57%. Not only did he fight crime in Gotham like Batman, despite being constantly vilified by the New York Times, he took head on the multiculturalism and victimization perpetuated by Al Sharpton and his cohort of race baiters. He ended New York’s set-aside program for minority contractors and rejected the idea of lowering standards for minorities. As far as the economy goes, Rudy reduced or eliminated 23 city taxes. He faced a $2.3 billion budget deficit but cut spending instead hiking taxes.

Ronald Reagan appointed Rudy as his #3 man at the Department of Justice.
Rudy won the Ronald Reagan Freedom Award.
At the Reagan Library Gift Shop, all but 3 of the books sold under the "Ronald Reagan Book" section are about Reagan himself or presidential modes of transportation.
Rudy Giuliani's book Leadership is one of those 3 books.
The other 2 are written by Reagan's son and McCaslin.

we need a single constitutionalist SCOTUS appointment for either Ginsburgs or Stevens seat, to accomplish that. JUST ONE. Rudy could accomplish that.

Mitt Romney had to manage the first Olympic Games in a post-9/11 world just five months after the attacks. Complex and costly security arrangements for the huge international event were a major part of the challenge of turning around the 2002 Salt Lake Winter Olympics. That counts for something in real world management experience with the WOT.
Finally, there is a personal example showing how Romney feels about Iran’s leadership. It was Mitt Romney that denied Massachusetts state police protection to Iran’s former President Khatami when he visited Boston to speak at Harvard. Romney thought it was a mistake to invite Khatami to the U.S.
Surely you jest, Rudy thinks Roe is both good and settled law.
I will definately check out if we do a write-in on our ballots. Ashamed to say I hadn't thought of that.
