You have to see how smooth Romney handles this heckler:

Unchecked bigotry, illustrated by this heckler, toward Mormons is unbelievable. If someone stood up and commented about a person's gender, race, etc., the public and media would be outraged. My guess the mainstream media lets this go unchecked.

Nothing against mitt but
You appear to have joined just to flog your blog..
Best wishes to Mitt. The more I see of him, the more I like him.
What's wrong with peanut butter? ;o)
I thought that was a sin...
It is a sin...there are some people who don't understand that it is considered in bad taste. This person might not have known. There is another Freeper, though, who has flogged his blog continually for the last 6 months, at least, and nobody seems to care.
I've been flogging my blog alot recently. My palms need a shave.
My advice is to post to previously-established Free Republic threads before rushing to create your own. It just seems to work better around here when newbies hang around for a bit to prove their mettle. Simply an observation.

I must be doing it wrong.
My hair is on the BACKS of my hands...:)
Yeah, that was rude and ill-timed. And I don't necessarily agree about voting only for Christians.
But he was right about Romney.
Mitt takes on a Christian lunatic very nicely here.
Google Adsense works on word frequency with keywords. That's why you see ads for sites selling real estate in Portland, Oregon on another blog that's been flogged to death on Free Republic, that appears dedicated to actually badmouthing and talking down residential real estate. In this particular instance, the word "Mormon" is no doubt used a great deal, so you get ads directed at Mormons, for underwear or whatever.
Yeah, It's supposed to make you go blind.
I didn't watch it...
I like Mitt well enough...
I've sworn off politics for a year..until my ulcer heals...from the last time.
Right, AdSense looks at the keywords on the site. But the other part of the equation is the advertisers who choose which keywords to push their ads on. So, if I wanted to associate "Mitt Romney" and "Mormon" in people's minds, I would bid my ads for "Mormon Ringtones" on the keywords "Mitt" and "Romney" and "Mitt Romney", thus ensuring appearance on those sites that mention him a lot.
Uh, I really like Romney (at least, better than McInsane or Giuliani) but I don't think the heckler got "owned" or that Romney's response was particularly smooth and persuasive. It seemed quite pedestrian. He never did what he should have, which was to say that he does indeed believe in and have a relationship with Jesus. In one sentence he could shut down the evangelicals and Catholics who are uncertain about whether or not they could vote for a Mormon.
Got a transcript? Videos take forever to load on this dialup.
So, you're thinking that there are companies out there blowing their ad budget to push the association of "Mormon" with "Mitt Romney?" Or, I don't know, maybe they're fictitious companies, created by political adversaries? It's not as if his religious affiliation isn't brought up with nearly every mention of his name already, in the MSM, so I have my doubts about that.
It strikes me as much more stratightforward to assume that these companies are merely trying to reach a Mormon audience, to sell their products expressly created for that audience.
