"If this resolution passes the House and the Senate, the president could veto it, but then he wouldn't have any money," Murtha noted. "What we're trying to do is make sure people understand we're supporting the troops, we're protecting the troops, but on the other hand, we're going to stop this surge.
"The other thing we're doing is saying, no permanent bases," Murtha said.
"He did not elaborate but went on to talk about services enjoyed by U.S. troops in Iraq but denied to many Iraqis."
"Let's take, for instance, Saddam Hussein's palace - that's where our troops are living," Murtha said.

The left hates this country and wants our defeat. Is there any other explanation for fighting against US bases in one of the most strategic nations on earth? For Protecting Syria and Iran from attack? For criticizing our troops in the feild?

This Rat's hatred for the Troops is pathetic. To be allowed to say things like this and PravdABDNC cover for him is amazing.

Is Murtha a heavy drinker?
He's definitely not a "Heavy Thinker".
I bet Pelosi wishes that he'd shut up. He's giving their plan away at least a day ahead of when they are actually ready to take the next treasonous step.

"They have everything they need. They have electricity, as they should. They have warm water. They have all the things that you need and we provide for our troops, and I agree with that," he said.
Well, that's mighty big of you, John. Electricity and some water--that's enough for our guys and gals. Let's not get crazy here and give them Fruit Loops and flip flops and goodie bags with prayer rugs and Korans like we do the terrorists staying at Club Gitmo.

He says this at a time when Nancy Pelosi is asking for a huge jet to transport her own scrawny chicken self and her family at Government expense.
and at a time when they just spent four days trying to use the humvee card. Humvees and body armor, for four days.
Duncan Hunter told them that there are 400,000 sets of body armor available, more than 2 for each soldier. It didnt't matter they kept on with this BS.
How many sets of body armor would a trip back and forth for the speaker of the house buy? How about upgraded Humvee armor? (not that it is really needed like the dems contend).

Shame on Murtha for thinking I don't remember the troop level being higher than it will be after this "surge".
Some of us are not as stupid nor as dishonest as he is.

I live in Murtha's district. My family and I always vote Republican and we did not sit out the last election.
The problem is the people in South Western PA. They are Union ROBOTS!!!! They care nothing about economics or where the money is coming from or going. Democrats are good!! They are for the working man!! I ask them how giving up half your paycheck to the Unions and Government is "good"
Answer: Bush is bad....Unions and Rats are good....Over & over & over & over................
