If the choice was Hillary (L), Rudy (L), or a third party candidate (C), I'd vote (C) and pray for the best. What other choice is there?

Well, Rudy and Hillary are on my "no can vote" list. Any other candidate would be fair game at that point.

I pray we never have to face that moment because all three choices would be a loss for us. A throw-away 3rd party vote might be the least bad choice.

Don't you know that people like you are single handedly responsible for Clinton's presidency, NAFTA, the death of kittens and children, bird flu, erectile disfunction, and everything else wrong in this great country? You should ALWAYS vote (R), even if they stand for the exact same things as the (D) candidate they are matched up with. Voting for a liberal Republican is the ONLY way to make sure there are no liberals!

I know a lot of conservatives who were pretty set against George W. Bush getting the nomination but eventually came around to appreciate the job he did as President. I have know doubt the same thing will happen with Rudy.


You better think of a better example because I wouldn't make that mistake again.

As for "true conservatives" who think they're being pragmatists by voting for Giuliani or McCain over Hillary. You gain: * A better defense policy Nothing else. Their other positions tend to average out about the same as Hillary's, and while Hillary has the core convictions of a spatula and the morals of a dog, well, I think that our drag-dressing "McGovern Democrat" Giuliani has shown himself to be no better. What do you lose? * The loyal opposition. Repulicans in congress will not vote against Giuliani in significant enough numbers to overturn his supreme court noms, his bills, his appointees, etc. * The chance to send a message. That is, to say, the base will be continued to be treated as worthless (only moreso), despite the fact that even they admit we gave them almost all of their victories in the past two decades. They call us "the nuts" in private, and then try to placate us with words, if even that. And some people buy into it. I'm tired of being treated like this, and I'm not going to accept false pragmatism so we can get a kissing-cousin baby killer-supporting global warming advocate who wants to ban our guns and open our borders as a president with an (R) after his name. In short, I don't want them ruining the reputation of the Republican party. Call me an idealist. I consider it pragmatism.

Perot didn't f up the party. There's been plenty of studies showing that he took a pretty much equal portion of voters from BOTH parties - not just GOP as is commonly believed.

If a liberal wins the Presidency, we're in deep sh*t. It doesn't matter if that liberal has "D" or "R" behind their name.

I might not vote for McCain because he has taken policy positions on federal law that I find offensive to our country and our constitution.

While I don't support Rudy's personal morality, there is little that he talks about that sounds like he would take actions as President that would make things worse in those areas.

If I was convinced he would act in a way that would hurt our country, I wouldn't vote for him. But his personal views on abortion, while offensive to me, aren't as offensive to me as it regards a presidency as McCain's position on campaign finance.
