The thing we have going for us in other races is the new electives inexperience. Things aren't going well already for many of them. The most leftist wing of the party is livid that they aren't immediately pulling out of Iraq. The moderates are not happy that they are for increasing taxes.

If we have luck on our side, Congress will cause gas prices to spike again with their radical agenda and it will rightfully, be blamed on them.

We may see a return to a Republican majority or at least a near one.

I think Newt would follow through on his promises

I hope, I started to read Tom Coburn's book "Breach of Trust" (How Washington Turns Outsiders Into Insiders) before I got busy campaigning this last season. If I remember right Newt didn't sound so great, but I could be remembering wrong.

Need to find the book, and finish it.

I used to talk with Congresswoman Helen Chenoweth/ Hage about Newt and Duncan Hunter. She liked them both, but I think she would have respected Duncan the most.

Both Hillary Clinton and Giuliani already have gone to some lengths to court support from gay voters, and Hillary Clinton's advisers said they were concerned that the mayor might do well among a group of voters that has historically been viewed as a reliable part of the Democratic base.

At the fund-raiser, Hillary Clinton also voiced support for domestic partnership measures that would allow gay partners to receive the same benefits as married couples.

On this, her position is similar to the one taken by Giuliani, who supported a domestic partnership law in 1997. The mayor frequently remarks that he signed the city's first domestic partnership legislation.

Rudy would wipe the floor with Shrillary (or Edwards, for that matter) in any debate. He may be to the left of where some people want him to be on some issues, but he's Ronald Reagan compared to those two, and he's far more mainstream than some of the no-names I've seen touted (haven't heard much from the Tancredo crowd lately, for instance).

You post lies and mistruths in support of the most liberal major Republican Presidential candidate in history and I shoot them down just as I did in this thread. As fondly remembered as Giuliani is for responding to Sept. 11, however, most Americans don't know much else about him. Barely one in five Republicans knew that he supports abortion rights and civil unions for same-sex couples, the USA TODAY poll found. Nearly as many thought he was "pro-life" as said he was "pro-choice."

When they were told about his stance on those issues, his star dimmed. One in five Republicans said his views would "rule him out as a candidate" they could support. That included one-third of those who attend church every week, an important base of the GOP that makes up a third of party loyalists. Rudy Giuliani would seem to have all the credentials a candidate for president could want: A hero of 9/11, a crime-busting federal prosecutor, a two-term Republican mayor in an overwhelmingly Democratic city and one of the most admired politicians in the country.

He's got a big problem, though. First, he has to be nominated by Republicans who don't yet know his views on social issues.
