I have heard that Guiliani is an admirer of Scalia, Thomas and Roberts. I do not know how he squares that with a belief in gay marriage. Perhaps he believes the 'marriage' matter should be left to the voters? I don't know friend. I don't know, either. We'll have plenty of time for him to declare himself. I think he'd be a great wartime leader, but those social issues--yikes.

And I take it from that statement you are Hillary's biggest fan? No. But I do know a danger when I see it. Hillary can beat ANY MODERATE/LIBERAL the GOP has to offer by offering the same platform as they do. No actually I'm likely voting for Ron Paul or Tom Tancredo in the primaries about as far removed from RINO's and Hillary as a voter can get. If they loose the primary and Rudi wins I'll look elsewhere. I will not vote for RUDI. PERIOD!

I could never stand before my own Maker and say that I exercised my God-given liberty and responsibilities to Him, my own, this nation, and its constitution and voted for anyone who espoused such positions.

The imigration issue should have been a "no brainer". Why was it pretty much ignored after 911? Might have alot to do with why we lost. Instead the "moderates" want to blame the very thing the Republican party stands for.Below is what the Republican party stands for on immigration. Enforcement they appear to have had a handle on, the only thing left undone is a guest worker program.
Supporting Humane and Legal Immigration The Republican Party supports reforming the immigration system to ensure that itis legal, safe, orderly and humane. It also supports measures to ensure that the immigration system is structured to address the needs of national security. America is a stronger and better nation because of the hard work and entrepreneurial spirit of immigrants, and the Republican Party honors them. A growing economy requires agrowing number of workers, and President Bush has proposed a new temporary worker program that applies when no Americans can be found to fill the jobs. This new program would allow workers who currently hold jobs to come out of the shadows and to participate legally in Americas economy. It would allow men and women who enter the program to apply for citizenship in the same manner as those who apply from outside the United States. There must be strong workplace enforcement with tough penalties against employees and employers who violate immigration laws. We oppose amnesty because it would have the effect of encouraging illegal immigration and would give an unfair advantage to those who have broken our laws.
To better ensure that immigrants enter the United States only through legal means that allow for verification of their identity, reconnaissance cameras, border patrol agents, and unmanned aerial flights have all been increased at the border. In addition, BorderPatrol agents now have sweeping new powers to deport illegal aliens without having first to go through the cumbersome process of allowing the illegal alien to have a hearingbefore an immigration judge. We support these efforts to enforce the law while welcoming immigrants who enter America through legal avenues.

Not on the war she can't. She's already moving left on that. Unlike many Republicans in the House and Senate, Rudy hasn't wavered in supporting the President and the war. Watch her do it. She might say send them in with Blue Helments but she will change to win.

The way I heard Rush was that he said some lib journalist said "conservatives will never support a winner". Then he asked the question about "liberals never supporting a winner, Kerry and all the other lib losers, for instance".

I'm with you as well.
If the GOP makes a deal with the devil and puts Rudy at the top of the ticket, I would see a huge loss in '08 for the party as well as a mass migration to a viable third party. The CP should be working hard to court Hunter, Tancredo, Paul & others like them to their party should Rudy win the nomination.

(RUDY GIULIANI 2008 - STRENGTH AND LEADERSHIP)
To: SJackson
I hope he won't be the nominee. But if it's Giuliani vs Hillary, I'll be voting for Giuliani. If you think 3rd party is a better alternative for the country, that's the way you'll go, but I'll not as I did during the electoral campaign that there are differences between Republicans and Democrats, and if collectively "conservatives" stay home, or vote 3rd party, they should do that accepting that the Republican Party will likely move left. Where the vots are. "Conservative" in quotes because I don't think most will either stay home or vote 3rd party. I think 2008 is the GOP last major chance to reform itself and Rudi isn't the answer. Run him and Whigg will be a term used to describe the GOP's future beyond that.

In looking at the current Republicans running the best combo I could come up with is Romney/Gingrich ticket.......
For president, Romney is the best electable Republican of the group.....
For VP, Gingrich is the best.....

I'm talking about our illegal immigration problem
We need to secure are borders.
Unfortunately we must have some kind of "guest worker" program because we have killed 17% of our population since 1973.
Enforcement they appear to have had a handle on
When did that happen?
To: Jeff Head
See my post 182 my friend. Hope all is well with you and yours. I read it and agree. Jeff, either Rudi is lieing about past his positions or changed them for this election meaning his principles are shallow indeed. Either way I can't support him.
