A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 2.2.07

President Bush honored the 2006 NHL Stanley Cup (hockey) Championship Carolina Hurricanes at the White House. [I lost the b key on my keyboard with the Great Water Mishap earlier this week so if I type a b that doesn't show up, and forget to copy and paste it in, please insert it mentally into the text. In my replies I might start typing a v in place of b.]

Secretary of State Rice hosted a meeting of "the Quartet" to discuss events in the Middle East.

Defense Secretary Gates and General Pace held a news conference at the Pentagon. Text here.

National Security Adviser Hadley conducted the press briefing today, discussing the National Intelligence Estimate (NIE), text and video here. The NIE is "an effort to bring together all the elements of the intelligence community and come out with a consolidated set of judgments about the situation in Iraq." It is a new document, provided to the president to develop a new strategy or new approach to Iraq.

Laura Bush promoted heart health awareness by attending the Red Dress Heart Truth fashion show in New York.

I cannot believe the nonsense that is being posted on that thread unbelievable.

I think some people check there brains out at the door when they log on to FR.

For one thing the President is the President of the United States so to address any body is not strange thing to do. Secondly he is a Republican President with a Democrat Congress if he hopes to achieve anything in the next 2 years he has got to work with them.

All these people see it as selling out etc etc they do not see that to get anything that they wish he has to speak and work with the Democrats and what is a better place to do that but at their retreat.

One politically challenged individual said he's 6een telling "us" all along that W is selling us out. Here's my reply.

He is not.

What is there a6out his efforts to work with these lunkheads that you don't understand? Would you have him ignore them so that they will 6e all the more empowered to ignore HIM? Did you learn anything from Reagan's years in the WH, and his right understanding that you may not get 100 percent of what you want 6ut if you get 85 percent of it, you've got that in the pocket and can work to get the rest in the next round?

***How do you use honey to get the real "6" 6ack?***

Oh, for Pete's sake, GEM. Just smear it on the keyboard and your b key will be buzzing with energy. You'll never bumble again with your b's.

You KNEW what I meant, you little dickens. Please don't drone on about it, huh?

I'm happy your grandmother had such good results on the knee surgery, and I'll be praying about the weight loss, and for your Mom's blood tests. My son has asthma, so I know how hard it is to try to sleep. You're in my prayers, too.

Prayers for your family and you. Tonight it has been airless here and it really has affected dad's asthma.

He should make an appointment at the asthma clinic at his doctor's surgery maybe his medication needs changing.
