On the Eve of "anti"-War at Walter Reed -- Week 93

Washington, DC, January 26, 2007-- Old Man Winter seems to have finally arrived in the Nation's Capital. It didn't get nearly as cold or windy as the pessimistic forecasters predicted, but is was no day at the beach.

Not a whole lot happened this Friday. We had FReepers from out of town who came to counter-protest the big United for Peace and Justice (and the Communist Way!) happening on the Mall on Saturday. With all the anti-American peace-niks in town, you'd think Code Pink could have rallied a few to join their "vigil" waaaaay down the block. It appears they had no takers and only turned over a few rocks to produce 11 anti-Troop sign holders.

It appears the Pinkos left their asbestos flags at home this week. Most likely, they didn't want the Hollywood comrades to question their (un)patriotism!	Billboard for the 'Peace' rally.
	This car was sporting nearly every left-wing wacko cliche sticker. Click on the pic to see them better.

We got lots of honks, waves and cheers from passing motorists which just goes to show that most people, even in a deep blue town like D.C., really DO support the troops!

The buses filled with wounded warriors and family coming back from
the weekly Fran O'Brien's dinner.

We'll be back out at Walter Reed Friday night, February 2nd, from 6:30 until at least 9:30 at the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Elder Street, NW in Washington, D.C.

The wounded warriors inside the hospital are heartened by the sight of ordinary citizens cheering for them and displaying our thanks for the service and sacrifice they've made on our behalf.

A couple hours this Friday night is very little to give compared to what they've contributed!
