FOX News Poll: Voters Most Comfortable With Rudy Giuliani as President

More voters say they would be comfortable with former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani as president than other top 2008 contenders, though majorities would also be comfortable with other leaders from both parties, according to the latest FOX News Poll. In addition, of all the 2008 hopefuls — announced or frequently mentioned as a possibility — voters want to hear more from one candidate specifically: Illinois Sen. Barack Obama.

Opinion Dynamics Corporation conducted the national telephone poll of 900 registered voters for FOX News from January 30 to January 31. The poll has a 3-point error margin.

Look, I've said repeatedly on these poll threads that I think they're meaningless at this point in the race. For example, I would certainly think that Guiliani, should he be the nominee, would be able to improve his anti-terror numbers versus Hillary. What it does demonstrate is that nominating a Republican candidate who cannot distinguish himself from the Democrats on "values" is vulnerable.

I repeat, I think these polls are meaningless, but just for the record, Hillary leads Rudy in Ohio and I haven't seen any numbers from PA. Forida is a must win regardless.

Rudy Giuliani is a republican ringer to elect Hillary Clinton..
The republican party is too fragmented to vote for a liberal..

Newt is the ONLY republican that can be elected president in 2008..
Most all voters for Giuliani will vote for Newt.. maybe ALL of them..
BUT many many republicans will NOT VOTE for McLaim, Mitt, or Giuliani.. period.
Even IF Hillary survives the primarys..

ONLY Newt Gingrich has legs.. all others are riding unicycles.. with funny hats..

IMO, real men can dress in COSTUMES as women, knowing that they're secure in their own masculinity, but others are so intimated, that they feel the need to ridicule and laugh the loudest, lest they be suspected of harboring homo tendencies.

I recall football players dressing as cheerleaders for Halloween. It was hilariously good fun.

Play all the games you want too with words friend. I don't care. I don't vote for liberals, Rudy, Hillary or you. I don't care. I will vote for a conservative. Even if it is a person from another party. I am not married to the GOP.

Fox News Opinion Dynamics ????

I love Brit Hume and Fox,I have Brit on now as we speak.Just coming to the Grapevine and then the panel.

Dynamics has pulled the wool over the eyes of even Brit Hume (my guy) The poll is no better than Newsweek or The NY Times. They have proven over and over that their poll is crap.I have been screaming about this for years. The Dynamics group is a bunch of Democrats.I can`t understand why nobody at Fox has picked up on this.

Their poll is crap.

I like Rudy. I don't think he should even attempt to run for President however. I consider him honest and thoughtful which I can respect even if I disagree. The guy is not Presidential material IMO but I think he'd make a fine VP.

I can't count how many times I've been to fund raisers at CHURCH where the MEN dressed as women and served the women food. Now, what would these freepers think about that?

Oh my gosh! I'd forgotten about the football players dressing up as women! It happened every year and it was a hoot. My stepbrother is 6'4", big blond and handsome and I almost couldn't stand up straight after watching him get all dolled up. It was usually for fund raisers for new uniforms.

"It's inevitable she has a Howard Dean yeaargggggghhh moment."

Most people would probably take an yeaarggggghhh from her over that tiny little squeeky voice she had when trying to sing the National Anthem the other day.

Doesn't matter if his chart rocks or not. The thing that matters is what happens Nov 2008. I'd rather have a Rudy than a HIllary.

Everyone on this site is aware of Rudy's views, so your tendentious little chart is a waste of you time, and everyone else's on FR. However, even out there on the Fruited Plain, among just Republicans, when told about Rudy's views on same sex civil unions and abortion rights, just 20% of Republicans say that makes him unacceptable, and another 25% say less acceptable. That means 55% of Republicans don't mind Rudy having those views, and 80% don't think those views are a deal killer. The relevant quote from the USA Today article is below. You might not like it, but if Rudy runs, he is the likely nominee, and if he is not the nominee, the Dem will probably win. That is my prediction and opinion. You save it for future reference. Cheers.

"When they were told about his stance on those issues, his star dimmed. One in five Republicans said his views would "rule him out as a candidate" they could support. That included one-third of those who attend church every week, an important base of the GOP that makes up a third of party loyalists.

"Another 25% of Republicans said his views made them less likely to support him, nearly double the proportion who said they made them more likely to support him."

"ONLY Newt Gingrich has legs......"

But Newt has not said if he is running or not yet. Until the time that he does, a lot of people think Guilliani is the one they would want.
