On Saturday, January 27 I was with the hardy band of Freepers who rallied in support of our brave troops in Iraq, Afghanistan, and around the world. We made sure that the moonbats of United For Peace and Justice didn't have the field to themselves.
As for the anti-war nuts, their parade was an absolute freakshow. It also got pretty nasty, with the moombats insulting the veterans among us in ways that were disgraceful. These people are traitors and should be viewed as such.
A complete report on the day's events, with photos, can be found on my blog, The Redhunter. I've also got some background informatin on UPJ and Code Pink, if you're not totally sure who they are. More photos are at my Photobucket account (I've got many more to upload so come back in a day or so).
Here are a few of the photos that I took that day:
First, Code Pink at the Navy Memorial
Here are some of the Freepers getting ready for the moonbats, who marched along Pennsylvania Avenue
And here are some of the Moonbats as they came along in front of us
Some stopped to argue with us. Arguing with a moonbat is a complete waste of time and will only frustrate you.
More at The Redhunter and Photobucket, see links above.
A HUGE Thank you to Kristinn and TgslTakoma for all their hard work in organizing the FReep and for hauling all of our stuff to DC and home again.
Thank you also to everyone who showed up to express support for our side, whether Freeper or not.
Sheesh....gime=time
bmwcyle - if you are naming yourself after a BMW motorcycle (sounds that way) I'm not interested in making peace. Sounds like something John Kerry would do. (I'm on the ping list as of a few months ago, thanks)
Bet the Code Pinko hoard left the bathroooms in the museum and Deli a mess and didn't buy or contribute a dime to the deli or museum.
ANSWER and UFPJ don't get along and many of the other peace groups hate both because they are totalitarian. But as it's the only game in town, they go. Because hating America is bigger than hating communist dictators (Cagan and becker) that run UFPJ and ANSWER.
You need to pay attention. There have been at least three that I recall.
Look on the bright side (though you were safe enough)- at least the personal-hygiene-sponge is out of fashion. Those were DISGUSTING.
Sorry we couldn't make it - burying another of our beloved kitties - one of my co-workers said "That cat could have stayed in the fridge another day."
At Union Station, some Colon Cancer organization has a "walk thru colon" on display. It was basically white with red veins or something.
I walked up to the young man and lady at the desk and said, "You scared me. I thought this was the National Organization For Women's V-Day display..."
They laughed.
Then I told them of you and Rachelprofiling's plans to counter the "V-Day Mascot" at school.
Cat in the freezer? well I was talking about cat soup yesterday (I'm not kidding).

All FReepers and lurkers in good standing are invited to join Jim Robinson and the D.C. Chapter of FreeRepublic.com in Washington, D.C. this September to celebrate the 10th anniversary of Free Republic.
The celebration will be held as part of Support the Troops and Their Mission Weekend, September 22-23, which will feature a rally at the Washington Monument.
The rally will be held Saturday, September 23rd from noon to 3 p.m. at the Sylvan Theater on the grounds of the Washington Monument, 15th Street and Independence Avenue, SW.

Man, they're ugly! Pug ugly!
I think he looks more like some old rich gay guy's houseboy.
Thanks for the rally info. I guess what I meant by "I haven't heard of any rally at the Mall recently", I was referring to the 500,000 people type rally, not the 20 people or so rally ( more like the Rolling Thunder rally on Memorial day than the gatherings at Walter Reed). I am aware of many of these small events but didn't think of them in that sense.
Hey Dr
I remember this fool and got a picture of him too. It was an absolute freakshow.
They have their differences. UFPJ will sacrifice part of "the struggle" to appear normal and affect the outcome of the war.
ANSWER is just using the war to attract people to a rally hoping they'll join "the struggle" after hearing a smorgasboard of radical causes.
Both ANSWER and UFPJ are dictatorships that claim democracy but treat the "coalition partners" like crap.
You're not man enough cupcake...
He had a ponytail too!
The modern face of Communism or waiting for the hand out. I bet most of them have their moms take care of them.
