NBC's Anti-Rudy Push Poll
NewsBusters ^ | Mark Finkelstein

Posted on 01/27/2007 9:01:32 AM PST by governsleastgovernsbest

Definition: Push Poll: "A push poll is a political campaign technique in which an individual or organization attempts to influence or alter the view of respondents under the guise of conducting a poll. Push polls are generally viewed as a form of negative campaigning. The term is also sometimes used incorrectly to refer to legitimate polls which test political messages, some of which may be negative. Push polling has been condemned by the American Association of Political Consultants."
Melissa Russo, political reporter for NBC's NYC affiliate WNBC, recently followed Rudy Giuliani up to New Hampshire. In her report on this morning's "Today," Russo stressed that at a GOP campaign stop, Giuliani failed to inform the Granite State Republicans that "he's far from a social conservative."

View video here.

So Russo decided to take it upon herself to inform them. Here's Russo interviewing a nice Republican lady:

Russo: "Did you know he was pro-choice, pro-gun control, pro gay rights?"

Nice Republican lady: "No-o-o-o."

Russo: "Would that affect your support for him?"

Nice Republican lady: "Ye-s-s."

Have a look again at that definition of push polling. Sound to you like Russo was engaging in it?

I think the GOP ran Keyes because they knew we didn't have a chance. And ultimately Keyes jumped the shark and supported slave reparations.

Even people as conservative as Eternal Vigilance STILL like Keyes!!! What true conservative supports reparations?

They aren't insults.

I beg to differ. You claimed I don't support the troops. Fact is, I do. Which also makes your insult a lie.

It doesn't take much to make someone anti-Rudy. Alot of people just know this puñeta from the halo the media gave him after 9/11 as "America's Mayor." When folks (especially the little old ladies who vote in Republican primaries) find out about Rudy's corrupt associations, his European statist tendencies, his arrogant attitude, and his LIBERAL politics, you will see his poll numbers drop.

The presidential field this time is really, really sad.

I'll simply note the irony of the fact that many of the same posters that are gratuitously attacking Keyes right here, today, were attacking him during the IL Senate race. If anyone helped Obama, it was RINOs. At least Keyes had the courage, in the face of insurmountable odds, to take on the "Rising Star" hero of the Left.

No, I said IF you let the Democrats win because of your misguided prideful conservatism, you are complicit in their actions.

You call me a leftist, remember. If I had done that to you, I would apologize.

All you've got is "reparations", which he didn't call for, and insults. Very weak.

The Rino supporters just want party unity, as long as it's for their Rino.
That's really no different than the conservative side. We also desire unity, as long as it's not for a Rino.

Once Comrade Hillary is President each side will still blame the other for not supporting their candidate.

We on FR will flame and insult each other just as we have done in every election.
Some will get banned, others will quit in disgust with the "fools" who have "ruined" FR.

You're supporting a Leftist. A gungrabbing, baby-killing, gayloving, illegal alien-supporting, liberal. 'Nuff said.

At this rate, it probably won't take that long. But what does anyone expect when folks post here in support of liberals?

Country comes first,

Ain't that the truth - and the best reason for opposing a pro-abortion, pro-homo-marriage candidate. If we destroy our culture, our country goes down the tubes. Whether it's Islamists who destroy it or secularist pagans like Rudy.

At least Keyes had the courage, in the face of insurmountable odds, to take on the "Rising Star" hero of the Left.

What courage did he show when he brought up his plan for slavery reparations? That didn't take courage, but rather political expediency – he thought he could attract liberal black voters in IL, but it didn't work, did it?

Amen. No outside force can destroy America. But men and women who raise their right hand and swear to defend the Constitution, and who promptly do everything in their power to destroy it, can, and are.

I think I agree with you.

I am not a RINO but I put winning the war at great distance ahead of all other issues. I happen to be for Rudy at this point but that could always change.

Most importantly, the democrats must be defeated in 2008...they don't even know we are at war. God bless'em but they're as blind as a bat and that's gonna get us all killed.

Also, I think the insults on FR need to stop. This is no place for division. We may all disagree (and we certainly do), but FR is a place for civil discourse...not screaming and spewing. IMO, that is.

I'd talk to you about "reparations, if I thought you were willing to listen to what Keyes said, rather than what the media said. But I doubt that is the case.

Even if you put the worst possible spin, the Democrat Media spin, on what Keyes said, the attacks from this crowd would still be mindnumbingly hypocritical. Y'all are ready to forgive Rudy anything, gungrabbing, big spending, abortion, border security, the homosexual agenda, and project conservatism on a man who has never held that ideology, but would completely destroy a man like Alan Keyes, who is right 99% of the time from a conservative perspective, for being out of synch with your views on one issue.

I guess that makes y'all "single-issue unappeasables."

You haven't done your homework obviously.

I repeat (its like spitting in the wind with you), we must elect the one person who can win this war...I don't care if that happens to be Peewee Herman if he is the best.

You are like a broken record. You don't seem to be able to grasp issues other than the most basic.

Do you think the Brits took time to explore where Churchill stood on all the issues before throwing their support behind him to go at the NAZI's? Of course not. They didn't give a sh!t.

You are fighting an ideological war of liberal vs conservative when the islamic world is planning on separating you from your thick skull.

Read some history, its 1938 (or possibly even 1941).
