[history]
My aunt and uncle sent this out to our family at 6:30 AM today. Carrie is my young cousin, a very gifted artist, and the second eldest among her siblings. She and her family are in Michigan.
Prayer reqeust from my aunt and uncle (Carrie is their granddaughter).
This morning on her way to work Carrie's car slid on the highway and into a tree. She has very bad injuries, especially to her head. Her brain is swelling and she is now in surgery. They plan to open her skull to allow for the swelling, and she is not responding. They don't give her parents a lot of hope. We are telling everyone so you can join us in praying for our dear Caroline. They called her parents about 7:45 this morning and they're at the hospital now.

May I suggest that someone say this prayer aloud to Carrie each day?
I said it by my husband's bed in ICU for two weeks in November. We still pray it every day aloud for ourselves and others in need of healing.
Praise be to God, he came home on Dec. 1 and is now resuming his bicycle riding.
The Lord says, "I will rescue those who love Me. I will protect those who trust in My name. When they call on Me, I will answer. I will be with them in trouble, I will rescue and honor them. I will reward them with a long life and give them My salvation."
Healing Confession
Heavenly father, I thank you for your Living Word. You said that your Word is Life to those who find it and medicine to all their flesh. Today, by my confession, I apply your Word to (name) by giving voice to it.
You said in Psalm 139:14 that I am fearfully and wonderfully made and that your works are marvelous. I declare that you made (name) and (he/she) is a marvelous creation.
I speak to sickness and disease today and proclaim that according to Philippians 2:10 that they must bow down to the mighty name of the Lord Jesus Christ. Every name in Heaven, on earth, and under the earth bows its knee to Jesus' name.
I speak to (name) body today and declare that I have authority over it. I command it to receive the Word of God. Matthew 8:17 proclaims that Jesus bore (name) sickness and took (his/her) infirmities.
Heavenly Father, I thank you that the same Spirit that raised Jesus from the dead dwell in (name) and makes alive (his/her) mortal body.
I speak to (name) immune system and command it to line up with the Word of God. (name) immune system will destroy sickness and disease in (his/mher) body and perform its job; for this is what God created it to do.
I thank you Father that every cell in (name) body responds to your Word. Your Word permeates (his/my) body from the top of my head to the bottom of (his/her) feet. I confess that the Word of God is being made flesh in (his/her).
Psalm 103:3 declares that you Father forgave all (name) iniquities and healed all (name) diseases. Father, that is your confession and I make it my confession also. I don't judge by the sight of my eyes; I judge by your Living Word. It is your Word that lives in me and brings health and healing to every part of (name) body.
Heavenly Father, I rejoice at your promise of divine health. You said it and I believe it! Today, I declare that I will see your promise of healing manifest in (name) body.
Healing is mine because Jesus paid the price two thousand years ago. God so loved me that He sent His Son to die on the cross so that we could experience life on God's terms. His abundant life is manifesting in us. Make (name) whole- body, soul, and spirit. Amen.

Prayers for Carrie. Setbacks are not uncommon. We'll have to redouble our prayers for 'our' girl.

[This regards talking to Carrie in her coma, speaking life and positive words to her, and canceling negative things spoken about her and in her hearing. I was very glad to see this.]
Glad to see this, too! Prayers continue.

Amen Gretchen. Our hope in our risen Lord is not false!
Now, Father, I thank you that You who knit Caroline together in her mother's womb knows every molecular and cellular structure of her body. We confess that the same Spirit that raised Christ from the dead is quickening Caroline's mortal body even now as we speak. We speak Your Word over Caroline-that she shall live and not die and she shall declare Your mighty Works. I pray this in the Name of Him Who is the Ressurection and the Life, Christ Jesus.
Amen.

Thank-You for the updates. I will continue to pray for Carrie, her family & her Drs. for as long as I need to.

I'm old enough to remember when docs only spoke encouraging words to families, and if things went bad, the families realized that sometimes things didn't always go right.
But now, if a doctor encourages a family, and things go bad, they sue him. So we have to make sure the family (or the patient) knows all the bad stuff. Medically this is bad, because we no longer help patients and families to hope.
I have seen kids a lot worse who recovered fully. What you should realize is that she might recover and be brain damaged, or her recovery might take months. So you need prayers and hope.
Many people who come out of these comas remember what was said in the room. So talk to her, play hymns and happy songs, laugh, and take turns staying with her. Remember, you have to remain strong to help her, so pace yourself. Take time off, get sleep (even if you need a sleeping pill) etc.
The next few days will tell. if the brain swells too much, it will die (i.e. it squeezes off the blood to the brain), and she will be declared brain dead. So far it sounds like she is not that bad. So there is still hope.

Thank you for the update, Gretchen.
Heavenly Father, I lift up my sister Carrie to you and pray that you would heal her wounds. I pray that the doctors are proven wrong and You, and You alone, would heal her wounds completely. Please, Father, relieve the pressure in her head and bring her family peace. Father, please bring her out of this safely and healthy. Thank you, Father, for Your Love and for Your Son, in His name I pray these things.

What is a typical cranial pressure?Good question. Just got this in an Email update from her sister:
The doctors are observing her cranium pressure very closely. Since the accident the pressure has been as high as 19-20. The pressure and swelling has been going down positively and at last check was around 12-14.
The doctors wont begin the process of bringing her off the paralyzing agents until the pressure for Carrie is 11 or under.
Normal cranium pressure is 2-6.

We have been praying that those words wouldnt find fertile soil. Please join in that renunciation we certainly appreciate the doctors position in curtailing any false hopes- however our hope in the Author of life, our risen Lord Jesus, is not false.Amen! Our Hope is in the LORD, the Giver of all Life!
Continuing to pray for Carrie and the whole family.
