My aunt and uncle sent this out to our family at 6:30 AM today. Carrie is my young cousin, a very gifted artist, and the second eldest among her siblings. She and her family are in Michigan.
Prayer reqeust from my aunt and uncle (Carrie is their granddaughter).
This morning on her way to work Carrie's car slid on the highway and into a tree. She has very bad injuries, especially to her head. Her brain is swelling and she is now in surgery. They plan to open her skull to allow for the swelling, and she is not responding.They don't give her parents a lot of hope. We are telling everyone so you can join us in praying for our dear Caroline. They called her parents about 7:45 this morning and they're at the hospital now.
Prayers for her full recovery soon. God bless her.

From my uncle and aunt
Carrie's mom indicates that Carrie, while still not communicative, is getting better.
They had her outdoors Monday, and again Wednesday. They are still working with getting the nurses' schedules figured out. Some have children and have to stay home if their children are sick. One good friend, C, has been waiting and wanting to work with Carrie. She had worked at *** and is a friend both to Carrie and her dad and is glad she can finally be on the list of helpers. Their great family friend, LR, just graduated from nursing at college and needs to take a registration test July 1, but she also has been helping out and taking care of Carrie's needs.

Carrie’s mom sent a more detailed report to my aunt and uncle who only passed on to me the summary that she’s improving, without including specifics this time.
I can tell you this: in photos taken last week, I see a vast improvement in her countenance and alertness.
Please pray for me to be able to put together comments and prayers from this thread to send to Carrie’s family. I haven’t been very well for some weeks — am getting stronger now though — and I really want to be able to do that.
And of course prayers as always for Carrie. It's encouraging that she continues to gain strength and alertness.
Thanks for the update. Prayers for Caroline’s full recovery. Nothing is too big for God.
Gretchen, I’m praying for your health and improvement in your condition.
Also, Praise God for Carrie’s improvements! I always think about her and lift her up in prayer - she’s my age.
