My aunt and uncle sent this out to our family at 6:30 AM today. Carrie is my young cousin, a very gifted artist, and the second eldest among her siblings. She and her family are in Michigan.
Prayer reqeust from my aunt and uncle (Carrie is their granddaughter).
This morning on her way to work Carrie's car slid on the highway and into a tree. She has very bad injuries, especially to her head. Her brain is swelling and she is now in surgery. They plan to open her skull to allow for the swelling, and she is not responding.They don't give her parents a lot of hope. We are telling everyone so you can join us in praying for our dear Caroline. They called her parents about 7:45 this morning and they're at the hospital now.
And special prayers for the restoration of Carrie's sight.
Thanks so much for posting these terrific updates—we praise God for the wonderful progess she’s making, and we pray for further healing daily.
It must seem so slow, to those who live each day with Carrie, but how far she has come in four short months! Praise God, He indeed answers prayer.
I pray for a word, from Carrie. A “Hi,” or “Mom” and I believe it will happen.
God can do anything and I have complete faith through prayer that she will continue to do better and the pace of her recovery will rise.

Such good news, Gretchen ... we finite individuals with our short attention spans (read: impatience, like *I* want it done yesterday!) need to remind ourselves of what great progress Carrie has made over these four months. We are not blessed with infinite vision to see His full and complete plan for Carrie ... but He’s doing pretty well so far, isn’t He?
I especially enjoyed the American Idol story ... it’s yet another manifestation of the love everyone who knows Carrie and her family hold for them. There is something very special there. I am grateful we can participate with our prayers from afar.
