Only the most far-out conspiracy theorists believe in scenarios like Hunt's. But in a new memoir, "American Spy: My Secret History in the CIA, Watergate & Beyond," due out in April, Hunt, 88, writes: "Having Kennedy liquidated, thus elevating himself to the presidency without having to work for it himself, could have been a very tempting and logical move on Johnson's part.
"LBJ had the money and the connections to manipulate the scenario in Dallas and is on record as having convinced JFK to make the appearance in the first place. He further tried unsuccessfully to engineer the passengers of each vehicle, trying to get his good buddy, Gov. [John] Connolly, to ride with him instead of in JFK's car - where . . . he would have been out of danger."

More than one if you are using a Carcano.
Probably not. Gerald Ford is dead and and his reputation safe now, and that may have had something to do with the timing. But Hunt's book is scheduled for release shortly, per linked story above:

Wow, I am knocked out by your Freeper site!!! You are so right about Vincents and "red heads". At 14 (1956) I saw my first Vincent and they still look good today. I can add some good knowledge for your site at:
yourarmstoisrael.org
select "a must read"
pull up "Article 29/The Final End Time Beast"
print and save for future reference. You might be interested also in reading "The Missing 'J' ".
I would guess Hunt knew where the bodies were buried. No pun intended.
Yeah, the inertia from that bullet coming from his front-right.
A bullet coming from behind will throw your head forward, not backwards.
Try it if you don't believe me. ;-)
Actually, I don't. I used to believe that there was a conspiracy involved in Kennedy's murder. Hell, I used to think it possible that the moon landings were faked. But, as a great man once said, facts are such stubborn things.
Kennedy was murdered 43 years ago. There were some things that seemed strange about what happened, among them, the so-called magic bullet. Alternative theories forced those who believed that Oswald acted alone to look back at that. Modern technology, together with even a cursory look at the Zapruder film proved that JFK and Connally were positioned exactly where they would have needed to be to cause their injuries. Kennedy was shot by Oswald, who acted alone.
Right. Whatever you say. But even ABC News and the other NewsFakers know that most Americans don't believe it- or them

Cause he's the guy who got killed to keep is mouth shut?
I've always thought it the most plausable theory.
_________
Actually, the MOST plausible theory is that Lee Harvey Oswald killed Kennedy. If you REALLY research the subject there is no doubt that Oswald killed Kennedy. There are so many myths on this subject it's incredible. I'll give you two popular ones.
1. Oswald couldn't do the shooting. Total Fallacy, it was not difficult at all. A 70 year old man was shown getting off the shots with 2 seconds with the same rifle to spare in the time frame Oswald shot.
2. "Back and to the Left" with the headshot and the entry and exit wounds. Both are demonstrative of a shot from behind, many tests have been done, bullets can do a variety of things when hitting a target but what Kennedy's head did was most consistent of a head shot from behind. The entry and exit wounds leave NO DOUBT that the bullet came from behind.
I did an insert on 1, he did the shooting with 2 seconds to spare.
This has been my feelings for many years....
"Conally and Johnson were at war with each other"
They were friends and co-workers since the late 30's - early 40's. They were splitting politically by the time Johnson got elected VP. Conally had political ambitions as his own. Nonetheless, Johnson got Kennedey to appoint him Secretary of the Navy.
From there, he went on to be elected Governor of Texas in 1962 and took over the leadership of the then dominant Conservative wing of the Texas Democratic party. In fact, the stated purpose of the Kennedy visit to Dallas was to try and heal the split between the Conservatives and Libs in the party.
Later, after the assination, both Conally and the Conservative Democrats vehemently oppossed the so-called "Civil Rights Bill" of 1964 (the then small Texas GOP did as well and Republican Senator John Tower joined in the Southern Filibuster). This helped accentuate the differnces between the two and led ultimately to Connally's leaving the Dims to join the GOP and try for President himself thinking he would be on friendlier ground. Unfortuneatly for him, he was wrong.
I believe his late wife, Nellie, expressed doubts about the Warren report herself shortly before her death recently.
You are ignoring the fact that his head does go forward. Watch closely as the fatal shot hits:

What exactly does a poll prove? I wasn't aware that public opinion affected historical fact.
It's distressing that so many here on free republic buy into the conspiracy theories.
Case closed is required reading before delving into ANY conspiracy theories.
Please fellow members, please read this book.
Not Connally, unless he was making sure the gunmen knew which car had Kennedy. I specifically remember Johnson staring at Kennedy the entire route except for turning into Dealy.
Thanks for the info, I stand corrected on car positions. I missed it by one car. He was two cars back.
I don't want to sign-up for youtube, but I've seen the video. He grasps for his throat and he leans forward from the shot in the back as he comes out from behind the sign. The bullet comes in from the front-right and explodes the right-back side of his head. He falls backwards and to the left against Jackie.
It's worfully cluttered with dead links and out-of-date material. I've got to spend a couple of days straight cleaning it up, preferably when miserible spring weather dumps rain hereabouts.
At 14 (1956) I saw my first Vincent and they still look good today.
Yeah, they do. You on the Freeper *Motorcycle Hoologans* ping list? If not, it can probably be arranged.
"Blood, Money and Power" by Mark McClelland.
Also read "A Texan Looks at Lyndon" by J. Everett Hale. This was writtn in 1963-1964 by West Texan Hale and tells Lyndon's story well. He was the ultimate opportunist.
JFK assassination: Secret Service Standdown
Watch as the two secret service men assigned to protect president Kennedy's motorcade are ordered to stand down just minutes before entering Dealey Plaza. They are obviously not happy about being given these orders.

I found this on youtube the other day. I've been a JFK asassination buff ever since the book "Six Seconds In Dallas" came out but I've never seen this until recently.
