A Day in the Life of President Bush (photos): 1.22.07

The President and the First Lady spent the weekend at Camp David, the President no doubt working on his State of the Union address.

There is only one new photograph of the President today but on the Anniversary of Roe V Wade being decided click here for details of the case it was fitting that the President made a telephone call to the March for Life parcipants.

Although there were no public engagements or those that were photographed anyway obviously the President has been hard at work today probably putting finishing touches/practicing his State of the Union address which he is due to deliver tomorrow to a joint session of congress. Today in fact nominations were sent to the Senate for nominees the President announced his intention to nominate a while back J. Michael McConnell and John D. Negroponte Click here for details.

In theme of President's telephone call today I have selected the following photos relating to "Snowflake" babies

Also a selection of other photos of the President with babies and children showing his undoubted love and enjoyment of youngsters - he would make a wonderful grandfather and I am certain is a wonderful uncle.

Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island

Great selection of pictures tonight!

I can't believe it - someone cut the phone cable (I assume by accident, it's too friggin' cold to be out committing crimes), I've been w/o phone service and DSL most of the day amd the phone company says it could go out again tomorrow. drat.

How did we live without this stuff before? : )

I like seeing the Prez with babies, especially twins. The baby photo-op is typical American politcal showmanship, but our guy sure looks like he's in his element when he's with the little ones.

Thanks for the ping! ;)

I'm from NW Indiana so.. I'm a Bears AND a Colts fan! I'm in a rough spot and not sure who to go for in the Super Bowl, But... I think that I'm going to go for Peyton Manning/Marvin Harrison/Tony Dungey Since they have been in the league longer... If Brian Urlacher/Alex Brown/Lance Briggs/Hunter Hillenmier,Nathan Vasher, Walley, Tank, Mark Anderson, Todd Johnson, Chris Harris,(the 2 Mannings), tackle rotation and Peanut win... its all good too... ;)

I actually think its going to come down to special teams and Devin Hester... The Super Bowl is in Miami and Devin loves Miami ;)

I had hoped to leave this site with no problems. I should have just stopped posting and never have posted again. Much of this situation can be blamed on me. I should have just stopped posting. In retrospect I certainly wish I had. But I didn't. I said goodbye. Dumb move on my part.

The actions of Wolfstar since I announced I was leaving FR have really disappointed and angered me. I had hoped to refrain from expressing my reasons but the situation changed much for the worse tonight.

Wolfstar this evening managed to get Lisa Malia to try to act as a mediator. Talk about motivating me to get out and stay out... That act really reinforced my negative opinion of the powers that be on FR.

Wolfstar in a freep mail to Lisa asked her to intervene. Wolfstar told Lisa that removing my posts was no big deal. Wolfstar exercised the right to do so .. "in order to be fair"... Those were the words what Wolfstar wrote to Lisa.

I spent a lot of time thinking things through to come to logical and supportable positions. In the newspaper world a columnist's full time job typically requires him or her to write one column a week. I often wrote several a day.

Only after I spent the time to create a piece did I post it on FR. There was a lot of time, thought and effort involved in creating a commontator post. Before I posted I considered the reasons for my conclusions. I also considered what opposition posters might use to rebut my post. That takes time and effort.

But Wolfstar thinks throwing one of my posts away is no big deal. Let me say, it may not be a bit deal to Wolfstar but it is a huge deal to commontator.

I would also like to say that upon occasion I did come to conclusions that did not support the president, those conclusions were not posted. This was supposed to be a site supporting conservatives and this thread is supposed to be supporting President Bush. That is what I thought .. but I was wrong.

Free Republic has become a Bush Bashing site. Even this thread has proved it will remove a Pro Bush post.. "in order to be FAIR" to an anti-bush position poster.

But this last episode of trying to use my personal relationship with Lisa to influence me is beyond the pale. Quite frankly it disgusts me. This intervention in my personal life is something I will never forgive and never forget.

Don't misunderstand me. Wolfstar has ever right to censor what I write. Wolfstar has every right to contact Lisa. I have every right to never post on FR again and try to tell you why.

All trying to get Lisa into the middle of this accomplished was to convince me that my decision to permanently get away from such people is a very good decision.

Don't bother replying to me.. I will not read it. I am logging off in a few seconds.. I will never log on again.

Wolfstar does NOT have 'every right' to censor you, Tator. She had NO right to remove your post, and it is not trivial that it was done.

We have both found out things we would rather not know.

Even though you will not read this, I am going to apologize from the depths of my heart for what was done to you and pray that it is conveyed to you some way.

Snarlin asked for her own post to be deleted. That is entirely different than having the Dose poster censor you for your strongly pro-Bush commentary.

I pray that this incident makes all Dose posters think about your/our role on this precious thread, and its potential abuse.

This incident, and the behind the scenes behavior (directed at me as well), has made me reconsider my involvement on this thread.

This IS a big deal, Tator. A VERY big deal.

I have no idea about any of this. I was not here when the postings were posted and I have not been privy to any back channel information.

In other words, I am out of the loop.

CT....I hope you read this and please re-consider about returning to the Dose. Your commentaries are insightful and deeply appreciated by those who read them, and you are not alone by any means.

What happened the other night was regretful and wrong. NO POSTER should ever be censored unless you are a troll or without the posters permission beforehand......period!

It pains me deeply to say this, for I have many friends here on the Dose, but what happened the other night was not in the best interest of the Dose and I was deeply disappointed.

I am incredibly disappointed that actions were taken that drove one of our finest people and brightest minds away, apparently not only from the Day in the Life Thread, but from Free Republic as well.

We will be the poorer for it and it is a huge blow to me personally.

CT, you've been here as long as I have..an old timer.

So I just stop by this thread to read the comments now and then, and I was shocked and dismayed reading your opus.

Yes, I guess I am one of those disillusioned with the GOP. NOT because of the WOT. I shudder to think what would have happened to our Nation if George Bush hadn't been our President. I support him 100% with that..today and always.

But I do have a mind of my own when it comes to the way Illegal Immigration is taking over our Country. I can't support his CIF, but I don't hate him. Rather, I would hope there is a better plan for our Country, than granting them a form of amnesty. I can't complain once it's done.

That said, I desperately want someone to convince me why I should still place my faith in the GOP even if the candidate isn't to my liking. I mean that. My husband doesn't have an issue with it...he's faithful to the Party.

So Tator, I'm not close minded, you have a chance to do some good here. Gently and using your God given talented way of communicating, you can help bring us all together and home again.

Please reconsider and stay..

Be well...sw
