Yet another Toyota recall...

Good. I hate Japanese cars.

Great story in 'Fast Times' (December, 2006) about quality philosophy at Toyota, and specifically the Georgetown, KY plant. It paints a picture of a relentless search for continuous quality improvement, as almost a cult like religion. It didn't convince me. I found it impossible to believe that every day Toyota workers are so inspired, just didn't seem in parallel with human nature.

Toyota often announces a 'recall' even if no one has complained. Toyota wants really good cars out there. And they have earned a superb reputation.

I do not own a Toyota but would NEVER buy a car from a company who knows of a deadly problem - the Pinto gas tank comes to mind - and compares the cost of the fix to the estimated claims from the problem if they don't fix it.

Ford Lied - People Died

Bravo Toyota!

Six injuries and 11 accidents were reported as a result of the defect, Japan's top automaker said Friday.

Should read:

Six injuries, 11 accidents, and 17 lawsuits were reported as a result of the defect, Japan's top automaker said Friday.

Why drive a rice-burner P/U when you can drive one of these! :-]

This will offend the riceburner religion. You should know by not that the Jap car worshippers can't stand when anything negative insults there stinking vehicles.

I guess all these Toyota worshippers haven't heard about the oil circulation problems on the v6 engines between 1997 and 2002. My friend's automotive shop has replaced many of these engines for his customers.

I'm ashamed that my 95 Tahoe has been a reliable vehicle...I knew that I should have bought a Toyota

I have owned a first generation Tundra 4x4 SR5 since 1999 and still love it.

I've been recalled once for a rear taillight assembly where the bulbs dropped out because of a poor design of the little plastic wedge that locks them into place. Seems that Toyota didn't recognize the problem in most Tundras until people like me took them offroad where the bumps knocked the bulbs out. Almost as soon as the problem happened on my Tundra, I got the recall notice.

Only downside to my Tundra is that the quality of Japanese paint isn't the best.

I sure would like to see Toyota put a Cummings turbo diesel in the Tundra along with a heavy duty manual transmission.
