I am so sorry for your loss. Your family will always be in our prayers and we will always be in your debt. You raised a magnificent yet humble son and even though most of the world did not know him we do know that we lost a very good man.

This is a link to the web page the Patriot Guard placed on the net in honor of my son Christopher Edward Mason.

http://www.flounderwear.com/SPCChrisMason.html

It is full of photos of the Patriot Guard escorting Chris's funeral. The Guard was requested because DOD had received word that war protestors were looking to demonstrate at my son's grave site.

Thank you “Patriot Guard” for honoring my son

Your son was a hero proved in liberating strife, who loved his country more than himself and mercy more than his life. He was beautiful.

You will be in my prayers.

THE CALL OF DUTY
(ODE TO A FALLEN SOLDIER)

You came upon this Earth,
A Joy to your Family...
A Blessing to Humanity.
You lived here among us,
Honoring us by your Presence.
Full of Life.
Everyday - doing what must be done.
Laughing, crying, in sorrow and in joy,
Fulfilling your Duty to be Human.
When Duty to your Country called
You answered...
With Body, Mind and Spirit.
You went from us...
To return in Body only.
It is now our Duty to Honor You.

John 15:13
Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends.

John 11:25
Jesus said to her, "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies;

May the God of all comforts, comfort you in your grief.

Mr. Mason
You accomplished something that is more unique in our day than that of our grandfathers. You raised a son of the most noble and humble character that he was willing to put the well being of others ahead of his own desires. Just like Jesus said "Greater love hath no man than this that he lay down his life for his friends." May the God of all Comfort carry you in your grief and do for you what none of us can.

Thank you Chris for your service to our country!

Mr. Mason
My family and I live just NW of Mobile. I watched in awe as you and other family members spoke of Chris's faith in Jesus Christ; what a testimony! My family and I have been in prayer for your family since we heard the news about Chris. I know that I have no way of understanding the depth of your loss, but I do know the one who does understand that loss. He is my Savior also. He is capable and willing to comfort. It is my prayer that the God of creation will comfort your family's broken heart.
Our Nation owes a debt to you family, and the family of the other men and women who have given their all, that we are incapable of repaying. My family and I will not forget the price your family paid for our freedom. I will see to it that my children know the cost and appreciate it.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart.
