This just dawned on me while I watched the discrepancy unfolding. Last night O'Reilly went off on the lenient Vermont judges. These cases were of years of molestation within a home or family type setting, or related. Not involving snatching a child but having one readily available. These judges claim they are trying to follow the law's intent and give these creeps a chance for "treatment" for their pedophilia. Besides that it doesn't work, I think society is ignoring something staring us right in the face. These hostage children are the same as kidnapped for the purposes of molestation, as if they HAD been taken off the street and physically and psychologically imprisoned. There isn't any difference. This is staring us in the face and I don't know of anyone who has expressed it. Do you? A kidnapping charge would take this out of the realm of where these people could get a slap on the wrist!
I hear you. He doesn't deserve protection. Let him fend for himself.
Or Someone.
TS, Halls..Maybe the good people of MO will kick in with a big donation for Shawn's wonderful family. They could really use a financial break.
sw
Are they having money troubles?
They look like they need money.
The stepfather quit his job to look for Shawn 4 years ago...he has obvious dental problems...we were just speculating.
Oh...he said that they were working on the adoption of Shawn into HIS last name when Shawn disappeared...and he said today that Shawn asked if they would still do it...isn't that great??
Wow!
I heard last night they went broke looking for him. God bless them. This family deserves some help.
Absolutely! And may he soon begin a long prison term in general population.
Yes, it is. I watched some of it; he's a very inspiring man.
Think about where we were, regarding missing persons, before people like John Walsh and Marc Klaas. Because of their personal tragedies and their efforts, so many changes have come about. Didn't the police tell John Walsh that they had to wait 24 hours before they could start looking for 6 yr. old Adam in case he was a runnaway?
Unbelievable!
The same thought went through my mind.
The father works for the local Fire Dept. Send donations there - attn: Craig Akers (wink).
thanks!
Please see my post immediately above.
Oh...okay, that explains the hat he had on!!
Thanks for the information...will do what I can...great idea.
Shawn asked this? How wonderful!!! Was that in the press conference? I must've have missed that comment.
TY!!!!!
So glad to hear these boys were found! May God bless them and their families!
For those who live in St Louis...call your local stores...Old Navy, Macy's etc... and ask them to give Shawn some new clothes and shoes.....
In the press conference just re-shown on FoxNews, Shawn also had on a Fire Dept. black hoodie sweatshirt with Craig Akers' name and "First Responder" lettered on it. The fact that Shawn has asked to be adopted - finishing the process/paperwork that apparently was started four years ago until his kidnapping - speaks volumes.
God has worked some major miracles in this double-recovery, due to the observations of a young teenager (Mitchell Hults) who had the common sense to jump in his own vehicle after he saw a stranger driving a strange (unknown) vehicle in his own neighborhood and then report all the details he managed to observe, plus the hard-working law enforcement personnel and, yes, even the local media working overtime to get this story out on their local stations.
