UPDATE:
Authorities returned to Michael Devlin's Kirkwood apartment today to continue coillecting evidence.
Technicians for the FBI could be seen carrying out several paper bags with evidence inside. They also carried out a bed frame. Everything was loaded into a white trailer. Authorities on the scene declined to comment.
Unlike some cases, I've been impressed with the law enforcement investigating this one. They seem to have their act together, which is what makes me think that this is probably a legitimate lead. Unfortunately the media can help or hinder, and it seems to me that quoting their "sources familiar with the investigation" is more of a hindrance than a help in the overall scope of this case. Like you said, who wants to setp forward with info if they might be called a liar by the media?
I pray for God's mercy on Arlin's family, and that this isn't another yank on their chain. It sounds like they've been through so much.

I Wonder how long Devil has had that bed frame. I also suspect that lotsof DNA could be on that bed frame and not just Shawn's or Ben's God forbid!
DNA from other people can last for a long time! Let's hope they find something significant that can back up Shawn and Ben's statements as well as other crimes against children.
You'd think, though, that there'd be more DNA in the mattress than the bedframe itself.

Ya know, they probably took the mattress as well, they just listed the bed frame as if it stood out above all the other stuff being taken out Devil's apt.

This is an ugly fact of human nature that I personally learned the hard way.
After an accident I had years ago I was overwhelmed with the love, compassion, and support of many people. Total strangers went out of their way to offer me their prayers and good intentions.
But...there was also an element "out there" who thrived on the rumor/gossip mill.
There really are people who simply make stuff up out of the air just to be vindictive and cruel. It seems to be entertainment for them when others are already down.
This case is fascinating - but to people like that, it is a great opportunity to spread their poison.
No one should believe anything unless it is released by the police or the families.

I noticed they DID take a mattress, also, so that answers our question earlier in the thread.
I wonder what that tall square thing was...seemed like it was bending...not like an armoire or chest.
Yeah, I would like to know what the tall thing was that was wrapped in brown paper and taped and being moved away on a dolly. It looks like they removed quite a bit. Interesting.
Maybe it was a futon mattress rolled up and then wrapped with the brown paper? I think I recall reading somewhere that Shawn slept on a futon in the living room. Maybe the other mattress they carried out, which looked like a regular mattress, was Devlin's.
