Yes, it looked as though he spaced off for a second after being asked, and the judge had to ask a second time "Mr. Devlin" to get a response.
From the Post Dispatch:
"We've always believed that there was absolutely hope that he was out there and that we would find him," Craig Akers says. "That's what got us up every day... I couldn't give up hope on him, and I knew the Lord knew where he was at, and if He wanted him brought back to me, that's the way it was going to happen."
An example of faith that is remarkable. I have a lot to learn from Mr. Akers.
it's the media that keeps changing it. The guy said he went to the Police Station to report the truck (I saw him on TV right after they found the boys) He took a picture of it with his digital camera and took it to the police station. The police never followed up on it but when they were there on Thursday evening to serve the warrant this guy came out because he thought they were there about the truck or because the police never went over to the truck so stopped them before they left. As far as the phone we have no idea how long he has been without a phone. It may have been disconnected because he did not pay the bill recently or it may have had problems.
My phone goes out at least once a month (3 times already this month) and I am all over the phone company about it because it is happening more often now. There is something wrong at the central office and they cannot figure out what it is. My bill is always paid so my phone down time is due to them and not me or my lines inside the house.
I gotta run errands. I will be back online later
It has been said that Shawn has told them (FBI) things that may help them with other missing cases and they left it at that.
No, there are too many inconsistencies in this couple's story, and I have thought so from day 1.
Thanks for posting that. The photo of Shawn looks like a REALLY happy kid.
I know I am confused about who reported the truck, the pizza owner, the neighbors or the cops.
And what was Devil thinking seeing reports of his truck and there it is parked right out in front for everyone to see. Good thing Devil was kind of dumb.
precious!
I think that he saw the cops and that is why he came to take out the garbage. To see if his 'hiding in plain sight' thing would work again. When he told them the truck was his, he found out they were suspicious and that is when he got all belligerent on the police.
right, i bet he thought that his plan of looking not guilty by not hiding out would work, but nothing ever works out for these idiots! I hope he gets raped, torchered, and murdered in prison!
I hope he ...
I won't say. I would get banned.
the police station is short walk from the apt complex
I am watching Oprah now
Okay, well, I guess there is more to Oprah than I have been able to discern in my brief glimpses of her show. She seems to push a lot of the leftist agenda, it seems, but if she is doing good here, then I must humbly applaud her for it.
Hello,
It starts here @ 4PM. I will be watching.
MOgirl
Well the neighbor claims to have reported the truck, but now I see that he didn't because his phone wasn't working. The pizza owner said that he went on Tuesday to check out the truck, but to my knowledge I don't think I've heard him say that he reported it.
If you listen to the 2 police officers, they don't say that they were at this apartment complex on a tip about this truck. They were there on a different matter.
I don't know what the officers say in the Oprah interview, as it hasn't aired here yet.
Oprah is a caring person, I have no doubt. However, I think money has changed her. She was first to get this interview. I am sure Oprah paid them for the interview. So far 15 minutes into the show, I do see that the family is so concerned and alarmed by what their son has gone through. They need all of our prayers. Poor young boys. I just hope this perv gets DEATH! I hope he does not get special treatment and kept away from the other criminals. Those bad boys in prison will take care of him!!!
I also want to add that even though the apt complex was a short walk from the police station. Devlin knew many of the cops in the area because of his job and the way Devlin's sick mind work there is no doubt that he made sure that Devlin knew this and that the police would never believe him he went to them.
For those of you that don't know about Kirkwood. Kirkwood is like small congested mini city within the county of St. Louis. It is an old township that had things grow in around it. Downtown Kirkwood used to look like a small country city downtown before St. Louis county expanded out. The road that goes through there actually cuts down 2 lanes when you go through downtown Kirkwood because the old building where built right a the road edge. It is really a unique township and many of the houses sit on large lots but there are congested areas in it. It used to be the main train depot and artery for passenger trains back in the old days. The old train depot is still there and is a historic landmark now. I believe Amtrack still uses the depot.
CORRECTION (trying to do too many things at once)
I also want to add that even though the apt complex was a short walk from the police station.
