Explosions Rocks U.S. Embassy in Athens
Associated Press
Friday, January 12, 2007
ATHENS, Greece - Police cordoned off streets around the U.S. Embassy in Athens early Friday after an explosion inside the embassy compound.
Authorities searched nearby apartment buildings and a hospital amid reports that an explosive device may have been fired at the building. The blast smashed glass in the front of the building, near the U.S. emblem of the embassy.
"I heard a loud bang I didn't realize what was going on," said Giorgos Yiannoulis, who runs a kiosk near the embassy.

She really is. Bindi is just like him, I bet.
No embassy breaking news....I guess that's good.
oops, Ambassador....
I guess I will never be a court reporter!
Maybe the phyllo dough puffed up too much in the oven, exploding the spanakopita.
She's on now....Bindi coming up.
Opening Vegas line is 5-3 that the attack was by an Iranian agent, 3-1 a Syrian agent, Palis are longshots at 5-1.
No Kidding:

Not sure about CNN International. I pretty much got fed up with it while I was in Denmark. For days they would focus on three stories. The world could come to an end, and they'd be talking about African villages getting wireless internet.
Damn Vegas is good
I give up. Whose?
If you know the embassy, you're the go to guy here.
There's an eyewitness report that the explosion went through the main embassy building.
Others are using the words "explosion in embassy compound."
There's another that mentions only the sign, as if it were an explosion external to the building.
What's your take on this?

Explosion heard within US embassy in Athens - police
01.12.07, 12:16 AM ET
ATHENS (XFN-ASIA) - Greek police sealed off one of Athens' main avenues after a loud explosion was heard inside the US embassy building, police and fire department sources told Agence France-Presse.
Four fire engines rushed to the scene, amid reports that the explosion struck the embassy's third floor at 5:55 am (0355 GMT), the fire department said.
No $hit? RPG?
Alexander did it?
They're also saying the 3rd floor.
I'm exposing my ignorance.....but would anyone be there that early in the morning?

Police have surrounded the heavily-guarded building and cordoned off the area. There was no immediate information about what caused the blast, and no word on any damage or injuries. Fire engines rushed to the scene amid reports of an explosion at the heavily-fortified building in the centre of the city. *******************************************
We always need a map! |
It could very well be November 17th, which has had some of its members arrested. The Ambassador's office is on the main street side on the top floor to the left of the Great Seal in the front of the building. More than likely, it was aimed at his office. The Greek State Opera House is located next to the Embassy.
Nah...the muzzies are probably mad that Alexander STARTED a fight! (NO I don't know much about history, but muzzies are mad always about SOMETHING!)
