Explosions Rocks U.S. Embassy in Athens
Associated Press
Friday, January 12, 2007
ATHENS, Greece - Police cordoned off streets around the U.S. Embassy in Athens early Friday after an explosion inside the embassy compound.
Authorities searched nearby apartment buildings and a hospital amid reports that an explosive device may have been fired at the building. The blast smashed glass in the front of the building, near the U.S. emblem of the embassy.
"I heard a loud bang I didn't realize what was going on," said Giorgos Yiannoulis, who runs a kiosk near the embassy.

"I give up. Whose?"
LOL! Subtle way of pointing out my faux paw. I'll be a bit more careful next time, I think...

Thank you 4butnomorethan30characters.
OPINION: Even though the damage to the embassy turned out to be minor (Thank You Lord); it is disconcerting that someone could get that close to the embassy and launch an explosive in to it.
"Greece ---like most democracies - is burdened by these pathologically unbalanced and intellectually deformed spoiled brats."
That's pretty much my take. Though I suppose that some outside enemy is trying to make use of some of Greece's useful idiots. As you know, Eleni, on Tuesdays when the weather is nice, the students from the university in Athens riot. A few broken windows, a few fire bombed cars, some tear gas, a lot of noise and cracked heads and its back to business as usual.
Like I said earlier, frankly this is in the category of "Move along; nothing to see here."
Ok.

"Kosovo link to embassy strike"
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Greek and US security agents have discovered that the rocket-propelled grenade was removed from an army warehouse in Albania in 1994 and taken to Kosovo, where it came into the possession of an arms smuggler.
Authorities believe that the arms trader held on to the weapon until 2001 and they are investigating his contacts and dealings in the hope they will find out who smuggled the rocket into Greece."
