The Talk Shows
Sunday, January 7th, 2007
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell, R-Ky.; House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Sens. Joe Biden, D-Del., and Lindsey Graham, R-S.C.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Reps. Charles Rangel, D-N.Y., David Obey, D-Wis., and Henry Waxman, D-Calif.; former national security adviser Brent Scowcroft; former Rep. Harold Ford Jr., D-Tenn.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Iraq's national security adviser, Mowaffak al-Rubaie; Sen. Barbara Boxer, D-Calif.; Senate Minority Whip Trent Lott, R-Miss.; House Minority Whip Roy Blunt, R-Mo.; Rep. Dennis Kucinich, D-Ohio, presidential candidate.
That was my main worry, too. A second concern is the time that will be taken up with "investigations", aka "Kangaroo courts."
With 100 Senators and over 500 Representatives, why do the Sunday shows always have the same old faces and voices? Their stances are reliable as Old Faithful's gushing.
Biden either ate spinach this morning and didn't brush his teeth or he needs dental work on his lowers.
Tim is trying to get the dems to cut off funding (which Matthews is trying to do as well), but Biden thinks it can't be done. Biden is giving Timmy a lesson in Constitutional law and how the Prez is commander in chief. What Biden wants is for pubbies to go to the Prez and say they don't support him anymore. That's how they want to work this.
Can't imagine what Fox must be paying for all that on air promotion.
But boring, repetitive, and predictable make it a must miss few hours.
Hoyer: There will be 15 hearings over the next few weeks on Iraq.
Words fail me.
Looks like someone has given Biden a great lesson on the Constitution, especially about who the Commander in Chief of this country really is.
Hint: It's not some bloviating Senator with hair plugs or comb over.
LOL!!!!
I have learned to make PESTO! Ta-da!
Oh my what a group
ditto that....Tater head is serious about losing the war.Tater head just proved he could care less about IRAQ...Russert is screaming leave now and stop funding the war
Hoyer: We're going to support the troops, however......blah, blah, blah
I am SO glad someone else is watching this for me! Thank you for the report.
I thought Goober was gonnna cry just now.............no we cannot leave IRAQ.....nooooooooooooooooooooooo
Biden: The hanging of Saddam was Abu Graib again.
I would learn to make Pesto too, if it wasnt so.......
Lets just say, you wont be seeing me on the Bravo channel.
now Russert is attacking the hangin' Says it was yacking back and forth yada,yada,yada...........Russert is godless pure and simple
Arthur Davis is a Harold Ford clone. Speaks well, even conservatively from time to time, but ALWAYS votes Left/Dem. Always.
Me neither, but if Rachael Ray needs an assistant, where do I sign up? :)
No he's not a pushover. It's just that the dems are ahead of us in the "image" department.
When the Senate was virtually 50/50 the dem spokesmen never called themselves "minority." We should do the same now. In reality, poor Senator Johnson is a virtual Jeffords, and the "majority" is really balancing on a knife-dege. If the word "minority" becomes the accepted reference in all news articles referring to the Republicans in the House and Senate, we have ceded rhetorical ground that becomes accepted perception. All of the political writers will use the term with relish, of course, as payback for their years of humiliation when dems were the Minority, and Ranking Members.
I just want our spokesmen not to call themselves the minority, just to set a different tone. We have to use language, because use of words has been one of the dems most powerful tools for years.
Example: Right now the dems are selling "paygo" as a euphemism for tax increases. Who can 'feel' bad about the idea of paying as we go?
