I come home on 2 major streets, so both were really plowed well, although the first one was down to ice.....it shined as far as I could see. After they get all the roads plowed they are going to have to come back with the BIG snow blowers and gain back the lanes that have been lost.

It's so strange we have no snow up here..
Well, almost none..
an inch or so..
I DO hope we get some, as the frost line will drop sharply underground..
It froze up the water in our well last year..

"That's right.....you have always had trouble with your snow blower.
Fortunately, i have a good neighbor. He helps me when I got machine problems, and I help him whenever.
It is astonishing that we have had no snow so far this year. I suppose when the first storm does come, it will likely be a monster.

It is always nice to have good neighbors. We have one really good one, and a new one, who does keep their part of the cul-de-sac clean.

I think that the Canteen is sort of the Free Republic "Cul-de-sac" and that many come here because it is so very clean.

I'm up because, well, because my new job requires me to work all sorts of hours/shifts.
I'll be up at random times for likely a long period to come.
What better place is there to spend my idle hours at Oh Dark Thirty, than the Free Republic Canteen?

I hope that is so. The "old" neighbor just got a plow, as he has rental property somewhere. He has not yet mastered the use of said plow, but he tries. All your "kids" doing well?

New Mexico National Guard Sgt. James Lombard carries a bale of hay to a waiting Black Hawk helicopter on a ranch north of Clines Corners, N.M., on Wednesday. With another winter storm expected to hit the state by week's end, emergency officials used National Guard helicopters to to ferry supplies to snowed-in ranches.
We got more snow in New Mexico!

Soldiers from the 82nd Airborne Division wait for the order to move out at Pope Air Force Base in North Carolina on Wednesday. Approximately 3,300 soldiers from the 82nd will be deployed to Kuwait by the end of this week.
They look more like the Air Bored Division to me!
