The Talk Shows
Sunday, December 31st, 2006
Guests to be interviewed today on major television talk shows:
FOX NEWS SUNDAY (Fox Network): Senate Foreign Relations Committee Chairman Sen. Richard Lugar, R-Ind.; former Gov. Tom Vilsack, D-Iowa, presidential candidate.
MEET THE PRESS (NBC): Former NBC News anchor Tom Brokaw; journalist Bob Woodward.
FACE THE NATION (CBS): Alexander Haig, former Ford White House chief of staff; journalists Ben Bradlee of the Washington Post and Tom DeFrank of the New York Daily News; Gerald Ford biographer James Cannon.
THIS WEEK (ABC): Former Sen. John Edwards, D-N.C., presidential candidate; wife, Elizabeth Edwards.
LATE EDITION (CNN) : Feisal al-Istrabadi, Iraq's deputy ambassador to the United Nations; Senate Judiciary Committee chairman Arlen Specter, R-Pa., and Sen. Joe Lieberman, D-Conn.
The EU (even the UK government), the Vatican, the NYTimes, the Russians - practically every government in the world except for Israel, Iraq, Iran, and the US.
Specter just gave all "waffles" a bad name with his answer on whether he would support the President if he wants more troops.
He wants to see the "plan", the "plan". I would think he would just ask Dingy Harry Reid or J Kerry. They always talk about a "plan" for victory.
Pres Bush's plan is simple, "We win, they lose". Kind of like my hero the late Pres RR.
John Edwards wants to be your daddy and give you everything. Universal health care, strengthing the middle class, whatever that means and whoever that is. He is really gonna give you a lot of stuff, which he calls "investing". Remember who invented that one?
OMG, Specter actually has bought into the lies from the head of Syria, Assad.
Unbelievable.
Leiberman is fantastic with his answer as to why he did NOT visit Damascus and talk with Assad.
Lieberman is miles ahead of Specter on foreign policy, thousands of miles ahead.
Specter sputtering in rebuttal but totally unbelievable.
Lugar was pathetic...looked like a Pinnochio on steroids...totally clueless....our leaders in the Senate need to rope them all back the barn...he should be on the permanent do not call list
For all their education and high office, I despair at the lack of judgment indemic in some of our senators, Specter being high on my list of the judgmentally impaired.
OMG, Wolfie still wants to revisit yet again the notion that going into Iraq was wrong. Joe says "We did the right thing" and Joe is right.
Does that mean stupid?
Ford died on the same date as Truman.
And I think Ford was in congress in 1950, when Truman sent our troops to take part in what he called a "'police action" fighting "bandits" in Korea.
I'd love to know what Ford thought of Truman sending troops to Korea in 1950.
During Truman's remaining 2 1/2 years as president, 30,000 Americans died for Korean freedom.
Under Bush fewer than 3,000 died in the same length of time, fighting for Iraqi freedom.
Did Ford think South Koreans should be under the boot of Kim Jong-Il?
this is why he got pubbies votes and got re-elected...he gets the WOT....specter is in the same barn as lugar and on the same do not call list...
LOL! I do so love plain talk. LOL
Sigh! Our once proud Republican party is now led by doddering old fools. A certain former President must be spinning in his grave.
Lugar and Specter are front and center on this morning's talk shows and are just pitiful, really pitiful.
Well stated!!
The libs have proven their "openness" to other cultures is a facade.
THanks ....sometimes it works.
there are some good pubbies up there and they need to come out front and center..I'm sick of them doubting our President and our military leaders...they need to be taken out to the woodshed and taught some manners...
