It is time to again start planning the Memorial Shoot in honor of TexasCowboy.
This year the event will be held April 14th at The Bullet Hole Shooting Range in San Antonio. Starting at 11:00 a.m.
This is their web page - http://www.bullethole.com/ (I am to tired and lazy to do the thingie where you can click on the link).
Range fees are $10.50. This year each person will pay the fee to the range.
After we finish shooting we will BBQ dead animals. (Sorry guys, no Kick Ass Enchilada's this go round). Folks need to holler about what food they will bring. Also, everyone is responsible for bringing their own drink of choice.
The Eaker Clan plan on spending the night in San Antonio that Saturday night.
Details will be posted when available.
You have been added to the ping list.
In spite of what the (not so) HumbleOne says, it's not really a problem. You just have to declare it to the airline, and then TSA will inspect the case by hand, since they figure they'll get a "explosives" hit on a the case and gun if they put it through the "sniffer".
I helped our nephew through the process, he had two, right after TSA took over screening. Of course that in Omaha, and you'll be leaving from New York, so your chances of getting an anti-gun Nazi are somewhat better. The Omaha TSA folks couldn't have been nicer about the whole thing.
Nephew took the bolts out of the rifles and packed them in his checked bags, but AFAIK, that's not really necessary.
My Mini-14 was so way off at the last shoot it made me sick
Had the same problem with my M-1 Carbine. It was about 6" high and 6" to the right at 50 yards, still is I'd imagine. The G-3 is even worse.
Howdy EG,
Look forward ta see'n ya at the shoot.
It's prolly gone be a nightmare with the rifles, but I'll make the effort.
Are ya bring'n anything special? I'll bring the laser boresighter in case anyone needs it.
Probably bring the G-3, SKS, and M-1 Carbine. Maybe a 10/22 to loan to any kids that might show up. They can always stay in the car until needed.
The Bullet trap has a great rifle range, although it doesn't have all that many positions. Light rifles, such as the SKS, AR-15, etc, can be fired on the "party" range alongside the pistols and "serious social purposes" shotguns.
Ship your equipment a couple of weeks beforehand.
(not so) humble gunner thanks for the heads up.
Don't worry about hardware, we have plenty and then some.
And that's just from the front hall closet.
Here is the back of last year's shirt (FYI - the front has the same design, just smaller, located on the pocket).
The small print is the date & city.
Should we stay with the same design? Should we change the color? Should we add "2nd Annual"?
Within the next week I will post info on where to order the shirt.
The important things to El Roy were God, Country, Duty, Family, The Marines, Texas and Fire Arms. I have absolutely no idea how to put that on a shirt.
Yes, maybe and yes. I'd go for black or gray, but blue or green, or even red, are also good. YMMV.
Do they make them in 3X? :)
Whatever you decide will be fine with me!
I am sure that the .50 BMG is way off.
The boresighter should come in handy.
How many rounds should I bring?
Gee, thanks for your help with the color decision. ;-)
I am sure they come in 3X.
Look forward to seeing you again.
How many rounds should I bring?
It'll get ya real close at 100 yards. But bring 2 or 3 rounds to fine tune the scope.
Maybe a couple more for me to try it out.
Just six.
You never need more than six!
I'd prefer a polo type shirt I could wear to work as an option with the design just on the front. White, blue, or green is preferred.
But that's just me! :)
I will also want a shirt for the 2nd Annual Shoot, Mom!
Just let me know when and where to order them! I am really looking forward to seeing everyone again!
Updated ping list ping.
T-shirt info should be available soon.
Wish I could be there, but will have have to be content with sending my "Best Wishes" to everyone for a great time!
Woohoo!!!
