MOSCOW [MENL] -- Syria has been discussing the procurement of the advanced S-300 air and missile defense system from Russia.
Industry sources said Syrian President Bashar Assad was briefed on the S-300PMU2 during his visit to Moscow. They said Bashar has agreed in principle to procuring the S-300 and focused on price and other details with his Russian interlocutors.
"Syria wants a strategic air defense system that would present a major threat to Israeli warplanes," a source said. "I think Assad will buy and deploy the S-300 over the next few months."
The S-300PMU2, known as Favorit and produced by Almaz, has been priced at more than $600 million per unit. The sources said Russia has agreed to reduce the price of the long-range air defense systems in exchange for Russian Navy basing rights at the Syrian ports of Latakia and Tartous.

Comrade Putin continues arming the Axis of Evil crowd for a major war in which Putin mistakenly believes he will share in the 'victory' over Israel and the West.==
Since West supply those regimes with US dollar and other hard ciurrencies that Russia just uses teh opportunity to make the high buck. Russia doesn't suply those regimes for free but for good payment in the western currencies.
You juust so hypocritical. You allow the westren countries to supply those regimes with US dollars but forbid Russia to earn those dollars. You shoul be honest in first place. WHO gave them US dollars? Not Russia..

"Since West supply those regimes with US dollar..."
Does America supply advanced weapons to Iran, Syria, North Korea & Cuba?
"You allow the westren countries to supply those regimes with US dollars.."
Does America supply U.S. Dollars to Iran, Syria, North Korea & Cuba?
"You shoul be honest in first place. WHO gave them US dollars? Not Russia."
You should be honest since you know America does not supply arms or Dollars to the same jihadist and communist régimes Moscow continues providing the means to trigger a major war.
Totalitarian Putin & the "Axis Of Evil":
- In 2000, one of Putin's first moves as Russia's president was to scrap the deal signed in 1995 by Vice President Al Gore and Russian Prime Minister Viktor Chernomyrdin requiring Russia to stop selling arms to Iran.
- In 2001, Putin invited Iranian president Mohammed Khatami to Moscow, the first Iranian leader to visit Russia in 27 years. The two leaders began negotiating a ten-year, multi-billion dollar weapons and nuclear technology deal.
- In December 2005, Putin cut a new $1 billion arms deal with Iran, just two months after Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad vowed to wipe Israel "off the map" and urged Muslims to envision a world without the United States.
- Russia has trained over 1,000 Iranian nuclear scientists, will soon complete an $800 million nuclear facility in Iran, and is angling to build between 5 and 20 more Iranian nuclear facilities, despite U.S. warnings of Iran's military intent and Ahmadinejad's genocidal threats against the U.S. and Israel. What's more, Russia is running political interference at the United Nations to stop the U.S. and the West from slapping Iran with economic sanctions over its nuclear program.
- Putin is now trying to help Turkey and Morocco go nuclear, and wants to build some 40-50 nuclear facilities around the world, including in the Islamic world.
- In 2005, Russia cut a deal to sell Syria state-of-the-art missiles that could be used against Israel, despite U.S. and Israeli protests.
- In March 2006, Putin cut a $7.5 billion arms deal with Algeria, the biggest military contract in post-Soviet history.
- Putin on his style"Everyone says I'm harsh, even brutal," Putin acknowledged. "A dog senses when somebody is afraid of it, and bites," he observed. "The same applies [to dealing with one's enemies]. If you become jittery, they will think they are stronger. Only one thing works in such circumstancesto go on the offensive. You must hit first, and hit so hard that your opponent will not rise to his feet."
- On the czars"Russia was created as a supercentralized state. That's practically laid down in its genetic code, its traditions, and the mentality of its people," said Putin, adding: "In certain periods of time
in a certain place
under certain conditions
monarchy has played and continues to this day to play a positive role.
The monarch doesn't have to worry about whether or not he will be elected, or about petty political interests, or about how to influence the electorate. He can think about the destiny of the people and not become distracted with trivialities."
- On his rise from spy to president"In the Kremlin, I have a different position. Nobody controls me here. I control everybody else."
- On his critics"To hell with them."

I alredy told you may times. Putin just makes money for Russia. HE SELLS russian merchandise for US dollars. It is NOT russian concern how those countries get american dollars. It is YOUR concern. But I already know answer. When America finds it profitable she trades with China adn Iran but forbids Russia to do the same.
