Looks like the folks out west could use some global warming right about now.
(Waiting to be pelted by the enviro-weenies) :)

The decision earlier this week to add a spacewalk to Discovery's mission and still preserve a final heat shield inspection today forced NASA managers to delay re-entry one day to Friday and in so doing, give up one of three end-of-mission landing opportunities. With only two available landing days - Friday and Saturday - NASA flight rules require a landing attempt Friday, even if that means diverting the shuttle to California or New Mexico. The latter option is a worst-case scenario that could expose the orbiter to sub-freezing weather for two days, possibly damaging thruster seals and water lines, and delay the ship's return to Florida by four to six weeks.
No lie. It's a madhouse on North Academy Blvd in Colorado Springs. Demolition derby for miles.
About 17 inches of global warming has fallen in CO.
We got about 14 inches of snow over the weekend here in the So Cal mountains and today is the first time in five days we'll be above freezing for the high.
Brrr.
Remember, 2006 looks to be the sixth warmest year in the last six years.
Blizzard conditions here in Colorado Springs. Four-wheel drive vehicles are spinning their wheels on little hills. Dozens of cars stranded on Woodmen Road and Academy, but my 4WD Jeep made it without incident. It's wet snow coming up from the South, and the wind is fierce. I-25 is closed from Pueblo, just South of here, to the state border. Not a real good day to be out and about.
The fabled Albuquerque low. Looks like my Christmas break will be starting 2 days early this year. Darn.
A nice view of the dreaded Monument Hill north of Colorado Springs.
Oh and by the way, this bad weather is all Bush's fault.
" The lumbering storm dropped more than a foot of snow in Colorado's southwestern mountains Tuesday, with 19 inches at the Wolf Creek ski area and 17 at Durango Mountain Resort. "
"A day earlier, the storm had pummeled New Mexico with up to a foot of snow."
LOL! I just mailed my Uncle in New Mexico a Christmas Card today. It said, "Wishing You a White Christmas" because we have NO snowcover here in southern WI (which is odd for this time of year) and I though he'd be in the same shape as we are this year. Oops! ;)
No snow here on Washington Island, across Death's Door Passage from Wisconsin's Door County Peninsula. Glow-bull warning?
Either we are equal or we are not. Good people ought to be armed where they will, with wits and guns. Merry Christmas
Like it or not, Global Warming is definitely happening, although I don't believe Al Gore's version in that it is man made.
I view this as a natural cycle in Climate and it's nothing to be concerned about. After all, Greenland was once so warm that it was Green during the Medieval Warming Period.
Had to be out for medical treatment and the neighbor had to pull me home the last block, due to inadequate global warming.....so I've left the car running.....{;^)
Denver suburb....
Hey, imagine if you'd been the outfit herding cattle from Lonesome Dove up to Ogallala in this kind of weather.
