Congress will approve an immigration bill that will grant citizenship rights to most of the 12 million to 20 million illegal aliens in the U.S. after Democrats take control next month, predict both sides on Capitol Hill. While Republicans have been largely splintered on the issue of immigration reform, Democrats have been fairly unified behind the principle that the illegals currently in the country should get citizenship rights without having to first leave the country.

Just read that the Border Patrol has said that the numbers of illegals coming across the borders has doubled recently to about 10,000 per day. They admit being able to catch one in five. That is 8,000 per day getting through.
That is 3 million more a year probably getting in.
The word "amnesty" is a big success!/sar
I'm sure there are hundreds of millions more trying to figure out how to get here to take advantage of our freebees!

Who is going to enforce this so called "path to citizenship"? I predict most illegals will tell the US Government to stick it....you see, they've gained the illegals respect./sar

I better start learning how to speak Spanish because I know the majority of them won't take the time to learn the English language and will call me a racist if I dare to mention that English should be the official language of America.

It's breaking the back of our small town and our city council is taking action to start cracking down on employers.

We passed an English only proposition here in November.
To: Arizona Carolyn
I hope some judge doesn't overturn it. Thanks for the only good news I have had today.

"Well .. the people voted
it's all part of the lesson we are to learn"
Yep, if Bush would not have gotten into office, maybe all this amnesty thing would have not been on the fast track.
The dems are just advancing the compassionate conservative ideology.

"Proof please..."
Much to the dismay of the goat hunter, I'm back.
I provided proof in my second corrected post.

I never quite understood why the immigration issue hurt the Republicans as badly as it did, when it was the Democrats who were just about unanimously on the more controversial side of the issue. Probably because the president is so vocally for amnesty, that many people associated the Republicans with it.

If the poster meant "wanting the tide of illegals entering into this country" as "Border-Bots", I'm one and I voted straight Republican on November 7 anyway...the assertion is uninformed childishness.....

excuse me, but you are blaming some congressman in CO for Bush's refusal to enforce the federal immigration laws and security of our borders? If GWB had been doing his job for the past SIX FRIGGIN' YEARS, this would not even be an issue!
ya might want to have another cup of coffee.

first, I am not your "pal"
second if you can't debate an issue without misrepresenting your opponent's stance and without getting personal then you should go over to the DU where ignorance on issues is rebutted by personal insults.
the only thing "lame" is your knowledge of the facts on this issue. And since you are obviously ignorant of how bills in Congress become law, unless the POTUS signs it after passing both houses of Congress or is overridden by Congress in case of a presidential veto; this bill will never become law. You might want to read a book on how bills in Congress become laws before you embarrass yourself any further. gezzzzzzzzzzzzzz

So do I. We actually passed four propositions related to illegal aliens this November, one of the four was English only. Arizonan's are very sick of this whole thing.
