Coalition Troops Kill 4 Terrorists; Iraqis Detain 21 in Recent Raids
American Forces Press Service
WASHINGTON, Dec. 31, 2006 Coalition forces killed four terrorists and detained six others, while Iraqi army soldiers detained 21 suspects as the result of a series of operations conducted in Iraq yesterday.
Coalition forces killed four terrorists and detained six other suspected terrorists during a morning raid in Thar Thar. Intelligence reports indicated known al Qaeda in Iraq terrorists with links to foreign fighters were operating at the targeted building. As coalition troops approached the building, armed terrorists appeared to maneuver against them in a threatening manner. A firefight left three terrorists dead and another injured. One armed terrorist attempted to fire at the coalition troops and was killed inside the structure.
Inside the building, coalition forces discovered a weapons cache consisting of multiple grenades, machine guns and pistols, which was destroyed on site to prevent future use by terrorists. This operation was part of ongoing efforts to eliminate al Qaeda terrorists and disrupt their operations in the Thar Thar area.
Elsewhere yesterday, 1st Iraqi Army Division forces with coalition advisors detained 15 suspected insurgents during operations near Habbaniyah. The target was an insurgent network responsible for improvised-explosive-device and small-arms attacks against Iraqi civilians and security forces. The insurgents are tied to al Qaeda in Iraq and are suspected of involvement in small-arms and IED attacks against convoys in the Habbaniyah and Fallujah areas.
In another operation, 1st Iraqi Army Division forces with coalition advisors detained five suspects during operations in Fallujah yesterday. The Iraqi forces were looking for a suspected insurgent allegedly linked to improvised-explosive-device attacks against Iraqi civilians and security forces. The insurgent also is believed to have been selling IEDs to other insurgents and al Qaeda in Iraq as well as smuggling foreign fighters into the country to facilitate attacks in the Fallujah area.

Spanish Bishop - No you can't have an Islamic service in Cordoba
Snip: Said the Bishop:
the joint use of temples and places of worship would only generate confusion amongst the faithful. Shared use of places of worship could make sense in airports or an Olympic village, said the bishop, but not in a consecrated Catholic cathedral.
End of humiliatin of Islamic world has ended - Supreme Leader
Snip: "We are all witnessing the coming of a new era. The flawed frame of mind that Muslim countries will remain enthralled in the cultural and political claws of the West and will continue to emulate them in their individual and collective behaviors have been eradicated from the minds of Muslim masses by the hands of the Westerners themselves, and as the result of their excessive arrogance and conceit," the message read.
PC gone mad - New Muslim sensitivity training
Snip: Chalk up another victory for the terrorists' Fifth Column -- the Council on American-Islamic Relations. After much prodding and capitalizing on phony incidents of racial profiling, CAIR has achieved something few Americans have achieved -- they got airport security officials to back off.
The Transportation Security Administration announced a new training program -- some may call it an indoctrination program -- that will be mandated for more than 45,000 security officers and supervisors. No, it's not training that'll be used to identify terrorists or protect airline passengers. This training program is being billed as "Muslim Sensitivity Training."

"Army prepares to oust Somali fighters"
By Mike Pflanz, East Africa Correspondent
Last Updated: 12:19am GMT 01/01/2007
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Fighting erupted late yesterday in southern Somalia as government troops prepared their final onslaught against Islamist forces who, until last week, controlled most of the country.
Fearful residents in the southern town of Jilib reported hearing artillery and gunfire.
Thousands have fled to the fields as the Islamists began what is likely to be their last stand against their rivals and their Ethiopian allies.
After being pushed out of their stronghold in Mogadishu, an ultra-loyal rump of 3,000 fighters of the Islamic Courts Union (ICU) have regrouped in Jilib and the coastal city of Kismayo, 90 miles north of Somalia's border with Kenya."
>> Sounds like "Animal House" where you're staying (smiling). I know they're in good hands with you taking care of them :-) <<
Smiling back at you. They take are of me must as much as I care for them. When I was down in Florida last winter a guy in the next campsite over said, "I can't tell if your taking care of him or he's taking care of you."
Guess we care for each other. :-)
JINN & TONIC
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1760720/posts
"Sheikh Mubarak Ali Gilani, a Pakistani cleric connected with a jihadist group, Jamaat al-Fuqra,
has given warning to America that its missiles will be misdirected by jinn. It was all very different
in the days of King Solomon, who was said to have had control over jinn and used them as
masons in building the temple in Jerusalem. The Jewish influence over jinn is strong. It is
probably no coincidence that the inscription on Aladdin's lamp, which bound the jinn, was
engraved with Hebraic characters. Believers in abduction by aliens like to think jinn are aliens"
I understand completely. My hairless cats cuddle up to me under the electric blanket (they know how to stay warm).

The Balkan Islamic Jihad: A Pan-European calamity

After the 9/11, a worldwide War on terror begun in order to disband and neutralize Islamic terrorist networks across the globe. The main focus of the largest anti-terrorist campaign in history is focused in the Middle East area, as well as in Afghanistan. The Balkan Peninsula is the European area where this campaign has also taken place, with numerous arrests and a continuous effort into riding the fundamentalist out of the area. The question arising though, is how did the extremists gain a foothold in South Eastern Europe in the first place, and what was the reaction of the international community over the previous years.
So, the outbreak of the civil war in Bosnia-Herzegovina in 1992 presented an unparalleled opportunity for the international Mujaheedin to storm Europe, establish safe havens in the area and thus initiate re-conquest of regions they previously ruled. The leader of Bosnia, Alia Izebegovic was eager to obtain as much assistance as possible and didnt hesitate in providing the necessary framework by which the Islamic ties were forged. In the same year, a variety of Islamic mercenaries flocked into the Balkans in order to support the Holy cause, meaning the establishment of the first Islamic state in Europe. The end of the war in 1995 saw quite a few of those mujahedin, acquiring Bosnian citizenship and establishing the first Islamic community in the village of Bocinja Donja.

Islamic Fighters Abandon Somali Stronghold; Last Seen Heading South Toward the Kenyan Border
By NASTEEX DAHIR FARAH
KISMAYO, Somalia Dec 31, 2006 (AP) Islamic fighters abandoned the last major town they held early Monday and were seen heading south toward the Kenyan border while government forces approached slowly because of land mines, residents and the government spokesman said.

"Somali Clan Elders Urge Islamists to Leave Stronghold"
New York Times ^ | January 1, 2007 | JEFFREY GETTLEMAN
Posted on 12/31/2006 8:48:11 PM PST by bd476
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "As fighting began to flare Sunday around Kismayo, in southern Somalia, the final redoubt for the countrys diminished Islamic movement, elders within the city demanded that the Islamists go.
Muhammad Arab, a leader of the Ogaden subclan, said 36 elders of various clans and subclans met over the weekend with Islamist leaders and tried to persuade them that resistance against the huge Ethiopian-backed force heading toward them was futile.
"We told them that they were going to lose," Mr. Arab said, "and that our city would get destroyed."
Kismayo, a scenic harbor town along the Indian Ocean that was once part of the East African spice empire, has been spared the fighting so far.
But the Islamists, Mr. Arab said, did not care. "These guys are bent on war," he said."
