Seems like she might be jumping to conclusions, but on the other hand, Putin's boys have kind of fed the hysteria by knocking off Litvinenko.

If it turns out this is, in fact, a deliberate poisoning attempt, the ramifications are chilling. Gaidar is a former premier with one of the most prestigious jobs in Moscow. To attempt to kill someone with that high a profile, with that much personal security, and that many political connections is surely no small task.

Putin was (IS) KGB. They've just become more sophistocated. The old bullet in the ear was soooo messy.

Egor Gaidar is also the grandson of the communist author Arkady Gaidar (Golikov).
Gaidar's grandfather fought on the Ukrainian and Polish fronts during the revolution (at 15!), and even at that tender age, participated in round-ups and murders of peasants. After the revolution he wrote cloyingly sick commie novels, and supposedly died in battle during the early days of WW II.
A biographer (Glushchenko) who had problems with the "official" heroic version of Gaidar's death was told to drop his investigation. The district director of propoganda asked the biographer: "Are you tired of living a peaceful life?" and Glushchenko got the hint.
There weren't any Politkovskayas back then.

The Russians have a history replete with examples of out-to-pasture high governing officials and their sublieutenants being disposed of to eliminate their influence of possibility of adverse information becoming known. Doubt that? Just recall the fate of the entire Tsarist Romanoff family and their attendants after the 1917 revolution and the fate of the Kerensky wing of the revolutionary gang. Hell, they even got to him in Mexico.

Geez, it's really not possible to go through a week without hearing about some Russian getting poisoned.

Yegor Gaidar is a much more important person than Litvinenko. No doubt, if he did not survive
his cup of tea Mr. Putin would be blamed for this death. The reaction would be very loud and almost nobody would have any doubt that present Russian leadership is behind it, as Yegor Gaidar was the key proponent of the free market reforms and rapid privatization being moderated by Putin's administration..
Yet, Mr. Gaidar immediately pointed at the OPPONENTS of the Russian government. Why the dogs do not bark? Is the failed assassination attempt of former prime minister less worthy to investigate? The surviving victim will be more than willing to help (presumably at safe distance in Russia, but investigators in Litvinenko case did not mind to travel there).
The 50-year-old was initially hospitalized in Ireland and has since returned to Moscow where he remains in hospital but is said to be improving.
Well, it have a little spin here. Mr Gaidar was not really hospitalized in Ireland. Immediately after he realized what is going on, he demanded to be taken to Russian embassy and sent to Russia, despite the advice from the local doctors.
