In Following His Own Script, Webb May Test Senate's Limits ("tempted to slug" Bush)
The Washington Post ^ | 11/29/2006 | Michael D. Shear

The WashPo tells us today of a recent encounter between Sen.-elect Jim Webb and President Bush:

"How's your boy?" Bush asked, referring to Webb's son, a Marine serving in Iraq.

"I'd like to get them out of Iraq, Mr. President," Webb responded, echoing a campaign theme.

"That's not what I asked you," Bush said. "How's your boy?"

"That's between me and my boy, Mr. President," Webb said coldly, ending the conversation on the State Floor of the East Wing of the White House.

But that is only part of the story. The Hill takes it one step further:

Webb confessed that he was so angered by this that he was tempted to slug the commander-in-chief, reported the source, but of course didn’t.

"It wasn't Bush's question that made Webb want to slug him, it was Bush's smart ass response to the answer. I don't blame Webb one bit."

So you were there and know for sure that Bush was the one who provoked this?

Hey, if you want to take a swipe at someone, try Oliver North. I can bet you that the "WebbSter" want no part of that action. The last time Col. North and Senator-Elect Webb got it on during a Boxing match at the Naval Academy, Ollie was the victor.

Have a nice day, tough guy.

It appears to me that the DemoRats have been tryin' to pick a fight. I have heard little Demorats put down others for six years. The only reason the Commies do that is to makes them feel big and better. (See the likes of Divito and the rest of Hollywood, Dean, Kennedy, Kerry, Webb and many, many more).

I am with you, I don't think Bush provoked Webb. Webb was looking for something to puff his chest about.

I think Webb has no class and should not be representing civilized people.
