Six men were removed from an airplane at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Monday evening.

Sources say the men, of Middle Eastern ethnicity, behaved in a manner that caused the crew to be concerned.

The men were taken off the plane after it returned to the gate and are being questioned by authorities.

The remaining passengers were also taken off the flight, U.S. Airways flight 300, bound for Phoenix.

Those passengers are being re-screened for boarding.

There were 170 passengers on board the plane, which is a Boeing 757.

Katherine Kersten: The real target of the 6 imams' 'discrimination' suit (Flyin' Imams)
Star Tribune ^ | 3/14/07 | Katherine Kersten

Posted on 03/15/2007 4:38:53 AM PDT by ButThreeLeftsDo

The "flying imams' " federal lawsuit, filed this week in Minneapolis, has made headlines around the country. The imams are demanding unspecified damages from US Airways and the Metropolitan Airports Commission, both with deep pockets. But their suit includes other defendants, as yet unnamed. These people, unaffiliated with the airline industry or government, are among the imams' most vulnerable targets. Recall the November 2006 incident that gave rise to the suit. The imams engaged in a variety of suspicious behaviors while boarding a US Airways flight, according to the airport police report. Some prayed loudly in the gate area, spoke angrily about the United States and Saddam, switched seats and sat in the 9/11 hijackers' configuration, and unnecessarily requested seatbelt extenders that could be used as weapons, according to witness reports and US Airways spokeswoman Andrea Rader.

After extensive consultations, the pilot asked authorities to remove the imams for questioning, which they did, releasing them later that day.

"The pilot did what he had to do," passenger Rita Snelson of Maplewood told the Star Tribune. "I told the airline afterward, 'Thank you for watching over us.' "

The imams' lawsuit, however, asserts that US Airways and the MAC acted solely out of religious and ethnic discrimination. It includes 17 separate counts.

Smiling at you...I perceived early on that this thread would be an ongoing thread...kind of like those never-ending stories.

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "CAIR doesn't like such coverage, but reporting the news is what newspapers do. The way to stop unfavorable coverage is to straighten up and fly right. Shooting the messenger, as any successful American advocacy group could tell them, never works."

What in the hell is going on at Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport? The cab drivers refuse to pick up passengers carrying alcohol or with seeing-eye guide dogs.

This is also the place made famous by the six flying Imams.

Those liberals out there better get their ya-yas together and put a stop to this Muslim push for Shari'a law.

I'm thinking about a "Flyin' Imams" ping list. If there's enough interest, I'll be glad to do it.

FReepmail me if interested.

"Imams' suit risks 'chill' on security"
By Audrey Hudson
THE WASHINGTON TIMES
March 16, 2007

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Six imams who are suing an airline and an airport for removing them from a flight also have aimed the lawsuit at passengers who the imams believe reported some of their activities.

The suit filed this week in U.S. District Court in Minneapolis names as defendants "John Does" who "contacted US Airways to report the alleged suspicious behavior" of the imams before the Nov. 20 flight -- an inclusion some lawyers, who are not connected to the litigation, say will have a "chilling effect" on airline security."

This is nothing new. About 4 years ago I was on the Northwest flight from Amsterdam to Memphis.
Just a few rows behind me and in the center, there were
several ME looking guys. Some children a few rows in front of them kept looking back at them and maybe giggling, I don't know, but one of the ME guys wrote something in big letters on a piece of paper and held it up for the kids to see. I saw it but do not remember the words, but it was something that would cause a shock, like "hijack" or "Bin Laden".
When the plane landed we were told to stay seated. Four or five very serious looking marshals boarded the plane and started selecting various passengers to go with them. They then returned with the names of a few others to remove.
It was about six that were taken of by the marshals.

It was in the papers the next day.
If recall that they were Dutch citizens but of ME origin, I think they were deported via the next flight back to AMS.

I do not know where they were headed, as Memphis is a big NW hub.

Muslim Organization Revives Minnesota Branch (CAIR)
Star Tribune ^ | 3/15/07 | Richard Meryhew and Pamela Miller

Posted on 03/16/2007 4:22:24 AM PDT by ButThreeLeftsDo

A controversial national Islamic civil liberties organization has revived its Minnesota chapter after a series of highly publicized incidents involving Muslim taxi drivers, store clerks and airline passengers. The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR), which has 32 chapters in the United States and Canada, will open a St. Paul office this weekend, leaders said Thursday.

CAIR Minnesota's resurrection, months in the making, comes as the state's Muslim community is being scrutinized as never before.

This week, six imams (prayer leaders) who were removed from a US Airways flight in Minneapolis in November sued the airline and the Metropolitan Airports Commission (MAC).

They claim they were removed because of their race and religion.

In addition, some Muslim taxi drivers who refuse to ferry alcohol and dogs are awaiting a ruling on the issue from the MAC. And some Muslim store clerks have refused to scan pork products.

Its nothing but a dry run for the anal-bombers.

Mostlikely they are timing how long it will take for a meal of C4 explosives in balloons to pass to the lower intestine so as they can insert their Ipod detonators.

I heard about that recently on a talkshow. It's someone who replace Brian and the Judge here, but the name escapes me at the moment.

Dinssa's note, ""This community is angry. Something is going to happen. We are going to see justice. This is a powder keg waiting to go off." IS correct.

America is becoming aware that it is about time to play "Cowboys & Muslims."

I think it was the Chinese who have a folk belief about not poking a sharp stick in the eye of a sleeping tiger.
