Six men were removed from an airplane at the Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport Monday evening.
Sources say the men, of Middle Eastern ethnicity, behaved in a manner that caused the crew to be concerned.
The men were taken off the plane after it returned to the gate and are being questioned by authorities.
The remaining passengers were also taken off the flight, U.S. Airways flight 300, bound for Phoenix.
Those passengers are being re-screened for boarding.
There were 170 passengers on board the plane, which is a Boeing 757.
Stay with FOX 9 News and MyFOX9.com for continuing updates on this breaking story.
Let's say these two did nothing wrong, but were acting in a way that would all but guarantee they get removed from the plane. After being questioned and released, they raise a big stink about discrimination, the Patriot Act, etc. Add in another episode of a similar nature next week, and the following, until the uproar against this "unfair" treatment forces security to back waaaay off and use kid gloves when dealing with anyone of "Middle Eastern descent". Then, since security is now much more relaxed, these groups have more room with which to move and not be detected.
After last week's "Poor, innocent Muslim student gets tazed by eeeeevil cops in California" episode (which the kid was clearly asking for, by the way), I think the newest plan is to civil suit us into submission. The PC Patrol will have everyone too nervous to act whenever they see anything suspicious.
I'm the last person to buy into conspiracy theories, but these incidents are becoming more frequent. Now, of course, if they find these two were in fact up to no good, then, as Emily Litella used to say, "never mind".
Actually a few years back when Letterman was doing shows based on each state you may/may not remember. Shelby had a little face time on tape (at the news desk) and proceeded to say (paraphrasing) "I have a gopher in my pants and his name is Carlos..." one of the funnier moments I have seen live on TV.
So your Burgundy comment isn't really that far off.
His real name.
And I could tell you some stories..........
Sources tell 5 EYEWITNESS NEWS that the men were chanting 'Allah, Allah, Allah,' as they were transported down the jetway.
definitely need to follow this story. Good for the Patriot who reported them, and good for the crew for saving lives!!

"German police uncover plot to blow up aircraft"
November 21, 2006 Edition 1
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "BERLIN: Six people were under investigation in Germany over an alleged terrorist plot to blow up a commercial aircraft, prosecutors said yesterday."
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The six, who could face charges of belonging to or supporting a terrorist organisation, were temporarily detained on Friday, but five of them were released on Saturday after questioning. The remaining suspect was kept in custody.
Prosecutors gave no information on the six suspects.
They said nine flats were searched in the states of Rhineland-Palatinate and Hesse. The latter state includes Frankfurt and its airport."
The StarTribune has yet to engage on this story.
More than likely hunting down Keith Ellison to see if he's going to raise the bail money.
What a shock...not so much because of the topic, but they are crap at their one and only job.
The only thing you'll hear in the Strib from Ellison tomrrow is how these 6 men were discriminated against.
Back in the USA...
