First let me say that if you like myselfe voted for a Republican-even if if made you want to puke--this is not aimed at you!!This is for all the weak willed so called Republicans who stayed home or voted for the rats. If you did not vote or voted for the rats, then please DO NOT start posting when your life gets more complicated by a democrat congress. If you bought a new home within the last 12 years especially an expensive one over $200,000 and could barly make the property tax payments just wait till the bush cuts are repealed when your take home pay goes down because your tax bracket went back up. Guess you will really be crying when you realize that Bankrupcy is not an option.--you voted for this! When the military Draft is reimposed--remember--Rangle has a bill ready for that and you voted your concience! When they start procedings to impeach the president and vice-president and Pelosi can assend to the oval office--remember you voted for this!!! When the price of gasoline skyrockets because all hopes of becoming energy independent has evaporated---you voted for this! When inflasion runs amok and the stock market crashes and your 401K collapses---you voted for this!! I am not being an alarmist all you have to do is search for these items and read what all the rats were screaming they wanted to do. It is NOT true that the rats did not have a plan they DO you were just to stupid to realize it. My grandmother always said "be careful not to throw the baby out with the bath water!"Well people we just screwed the pooch and the baby is no where to be found. Now the only chance to evict the rats will be in 4years for the house and 12 years for the senete. So lock up you wallets learn spanish be prepared to be moved from the middle class to the poor house but dont post about how unfair things have become--remember YOU VOTED FOR THIS!!!!

How many Freepers do you think voted Dem in the last election? I'm guessing not many. Especially if you don't count Lieberman...

Sadly, in my Congressional district, there was no Republican running this time. So, I did vote for the Libertarian and felt damn proud to do so! lol

How did you vote in the other races?

I voted. I held my nose and voted a straight Republican ticket, one-handed! :)

When I did this I was compromising my principles. That's right, I won't call it something else. I was voting for the bridge to nowhere and the fence with no funding. I did this for reasons that seemed sufficient to me.

I will not criticize those who could not compromise their principles. They are NOT slaves of the party. If the party did not get their vote, the party did not earn their vote.

The Republican party can pretty much take me for granted. They can't take everyone for granted.

I'm pretty sure a large number of conservatives abstained or defected too with the intent of gridlocking government for the next two years so we don't get two more years of status-quo (which has basically been the anti-contract-with-America, and with the revocation of habius corpus which managed to survive over 200 years of various wars and conflicts, and the wholesale spying on the domestic phone/internet systems -- anti-America).

With a veto in the white-house and zero chance of the split house/senate being able to over-ride that veto the only thing I'm truly worried about is that the President has the same open border philosophy as the democrats which means precious little is going to stem the flood of illegal immigration save maybe changing the name from illegal to legal (sigh). But with the CINO (conservatives in name only) being bought off by big business for the never ending stream of sweatshop wage labor, even a republican victory wouldn't have changed anything there either.

Personally I see the next two years in the wilderness as a good thing. The government will be mostly paralyzed, and in two years when we return the republicans to power and someone wants to build a budget-busting bridge to nowhere they may actually remember who their real bosses are (hint -- not the lobbyist or the NSA).

Straight Republican . . . except I did vote for one Democrat who was running for City Council. He is conservative and votes with the Republicans on the council every time though. Sadly, he lost.

I voted, but I am not complaining the results it has allowed me reassess, where I need to go in life. Currently I live in Wisconsin, we recently voted out the incumbent Treasurer who was a Republican, for the Democrat whose experience in accounting and finance include working part time at Kohl's as a cashier, and doing the books for her fathers' small business. This is why I need to leave the state of Wisconsin.

...joke's on them

Except that the Rats winning is no joke. Expect emboldened terrorists, Iraq to degrade horribly into chaos (the press hasn't seen anything yet), Iran and NK are now safe to do what they want (unless Bush says "what the heck, I haven't got anything to lose anymore" and just goes after them), higher taxes - slower economic growth - and higher unemployment, all kinds of gay and deviant rights bills, ....

It's no joke.

I've always heard that the Libertarian Party is filled with nuts and nerds. Mr. Ard was definitely on the nerd side of that party, but a good guy. He was very much on the Republican side of the Libertarian Party. I knew he had no chance of winning, but did encourage my friends to vote for him if, for no other reason, to make Chandler look weak.

Remember the republican party is not made up of just republicans. There are the RINO republicans, conservative republicans, liberal republicans, moderate republicans. Some of them actually hide in the republican party but still vote for dims. I knew a guy in socialist WA state who was a republican but voted 90% for the socialists. So, what we really need is the Conservative Party and any candidate who enters it, has to meet conservative values or hit the road.

If the dems don't really cut and run, they lose the sheehan vote and we win handily. If they do cut and run, our side turns out in Biblical proportions and we win handily.

I agree. The Iraq war puts them into a real political quandary, now that they are finally thrust into a position that demands accountability. Before it's all over, the war may end up doing more damage to the Democrats than it does to the Republicans.

How are we going to overcome 12 million new democrat voters when amnesty is granted. The demoncrats are here to stay.

I tell you what, a revolution may be on the horizon!! With the libs back in control, it will be a mighty fight to stop them with their hollywood, msm, george soros connections. Demonic forces have just been invited in!!
This IS the Year of the Sword and we better be getting ready.
I'm praying for a revival of Biblical proportion!!

To those "republicans" that stayed home or voted "D" to "teach the GOP a lesson," understand this:

The troops noticed. They are going to teach you a lesson. They're going to get out at the end of their service, and they're going to leave you to your own devices against the jihadis. Lotsa luck, folks.

You're right. The effects of our folks staying home are going to be long-lasting and far-reaching, I believe. It would have been better to pick off the RINOs individually than to throw our hands up and give everything into the Dims' hands. Now we will have to live with a USSC that can't be counted on to defend our Constitution, floods of illegals, hampering of the economy, and emboldened terrorists until we can figure a way back out of this. Ugh.
