In an unrelated topic, did you see how fast Typhoon Chebi bombed out overnight? Went from a tropical storm to a borderline Cat-4 in 12 hours. And it's heading for Luzon - third bombout this season for those poor folks.

The moonbats and media whores will start the mantra. They'll produce all kinds of BS polls to support their position. Then Conyers and company will claim they're only responding to the demands of the people. etc, etc. The pubbies on the HJC should just walk-out whenever Conyers even brings it up. Refuse to participate in such a crock. But they haven't the stones for such a thing. They'll be at least one a couple of them that'll participate and revel in the media-adoration a "maverick" will get. You think the the pubbies are cowards now? Just wait. It'll be disgusting.

The 'Rats are so convinced that Bush and Cheney are criminals that they just
know an investigation will turn up lots of evidence of crimes. It doesn't seem to have occurred to them that there isn't any evidence because they haven't done anything wrong.
Not that absence of evidence would prevent the Democrats on the Judiciary Committee from adopting articles of impeachment.
To: foreshadowed at waco
No ImpeachmentToo bad. At least Cheney would probably veto amnesty legislation.

There won't be any impeachment proceedings. They don't have anywhere near enough votes for it in the Senate. The political blowback on the Dems would far outweigh any short-term effect it would have on Bush's popularity. Exactly correct!
They came into the majority with wins is conservative districts, not anti-Bush ones.
The House Democrats are not going to waste time on this when it will go nowhere in the Senate.
If they do, it is a bonus for us to regain the House.

You are underestimating Bush.
Bush was working with a Republican Congress.
With a Democratic one, he will be more aggressive.

If they take that route, they still end up with a Republican President in office.
No one is going to be impeached.
Clinton was impeached because he was guilty of a crime and deserved it.
The Democrats rationalized this by saying it was 'he only lied about sex' so it didn't matter.
When Clinton cut a deal with the special persecutor,he admitted that he had lied under oath and could not practice law in Ark.

We HAVE to stay on the offensive and take the White House in 08. And retake the Congress!

This no impeachment talk is a part of the cow-tow and they're already ticking off their liberal core. Exactly.
They have to govern from the center and that is going to frustrate their liberal base.
Just as our Conservative base was frustrated.
It will be an opening for us in 08.

I have been listening to Rush today. He does not believe what the AlQuedacrats say. Neither do I. If they try, we must start screaming our heads off.

The nations defense has always been the great Constitution, that prevents one Party from totally dominating the other.
Even FDR had to deal with being blocked by one branch he didn't control the Supreme Court and when he said he intended to gain control of it, even Democrats voted against him, putting back into office almost 100 Republicans, and throwing out a lot of New Dealers.
We are a nation of checks and balances and not dependent on the whims of the People or politicans.

It will do no good.
If they attempt such a blatent political act, it will only destroy the majority they have carefully built.
When your enemy is destroying himself, just get out of his way.

If they do impeach, they will be stuck with President Cheney! I don't think they like that option too much. That's why it's off the table. Putting Cheney as President allows him to run as incumbent in 2008 and then he could retire and pick his successor in the GOP.

You're correct there, but ... there's still the Freedom of Information Act he can use. If he continued to pursue Able Danger and the rest, he could be politically viable still in 2 years.
