The nations defense has always been the great Constitution, that prevents one Party from totally dominating the other.

Even FDR had to deal with being blocked by one branch he didn't control the Supreme Court and when he said he intended to gain control of it, even Democrats voted against him, putting back into office almost 100 Republicans, and throwing out a lot of New Dealers.

We are a nation of checks and balances and not dependent on the whims of the People or politicans.

I'm totally lost by your response. I don't mean this in a defensive way but sorry, its a non-sequitur.

I was making the point that the "stage is getting set for some hand to hand combat within the Democratic party. The Dems are not going to be one big happy familiy." You may or may not agree with my post, and that's fine.

However, that issue really has nothing whatsoever to do with one party dominating the other or even with checks and balances. I appreciate your points but they don't relate at all to mine. Were you mistakenly responding to some other poster?
