If Nancy Pelosi is insightful, she will realize that America is still center-right. The evidence is (1) that the Dems won the Congress with moderate or conservative Democrats and (2) the passage of the many anti-gay amendments.

If they are smart, they won't do anything divisive or left-wing for the next two years, and risk losing the White House.

I think nothing bad will happen for next two years.

The real problem for GOP is that if Dems re-paint themselves as conservative patriots, and regain control in 08, including the White House, THEN the masks will come off and socialism will come raining down.

We HAVE to stay on the offensive and take the White House in 08.

I live too dangerously close to Ground Zero to want to have to worry about a distracted President and a shrill media who loves to create circuses.

I sense in your post the feeling that the Clinton Impeachment Process may have in part lead to 9-11.

I personally believe that is exactly what happened and that history very likely will repeat itself.

I'd bet a six pack this is why Rummy got dumped. A trade between President Bush and Pilosi.

It had to go further than that. He going to stick it to every American with this amnesty crapola. Bush isn't a pubbie. He is an internationalist. The Bush clan is the New World Order. The same as his newly adopted brother, Bubba. They are are welcomes of the CFR, Trilateralists, etc. Don't think that our new Sec of Defense wasn't rubber stamped by the CFR because he was. Don't think that the next two nominees in this corrupt/fraudulant "Two-Party Cartel" won't be the same. And don't think that they will not push open borders & amnesty & low wages & jobs sent overseas, etc. etc. ect. So vote these bas^%%$#ards all back in so we can have another sham election.

The House will come back to the GOP assuming we wake up and back our candidates by actually voting. If I am correct only 25 million Republicans bothered to vote compared to 31-35 million Democrats. They were motivated while we were upset about one stupid thing or another, or worse were to lazy to get off our butts!

It's easy to talk tough when you're in the minority with no ability to affect the outcome. The Democrats are faced with the problem of their past rhetoric and no real plan.

Sir, you are absolutely right. Thank you for sound reasoning. The only plan they had was lies, distortion, and rhetoric.

Shucks, the kook libs gave us sure wins until we got to lazy or misdirected this past election and flatass shot ourselves in the foot by not voting for one reason or another. And even then most races were decided by a whisker of a difference and they only ran very conservative dims and kept the Pelosis and reids hidden in the last weeks before election day.

Either that or Pelosi is lying. Once things turn ugly (and they will) I'm sure her tune will change.

Impeachment will now just become a part of the norm being the President and it was implemented when Clinton was able to fool people claiming his impeachment was about sex, which it wasn't.

Corruption ala no-bid contracts to Halliburton, for one thing.

Secret meetings with corporate leaders for the purpose of drafting legislation favorable to the evil capitalists, with hints of pay-to-play and subpoenas of private financial records of everyone, for another.

It will give the media and the moonbats loads of juicy tidbits and will therefore mollify the fringe base while Hillary and the Blue Dogs act moderate for the swing voters.

We have obstructive powers in Congress as the minority. They do not have a super majority. It will be disgusting, but I am hoping they don't do much real damage.

The business cycle will peak and decline on their watch. Iraq, Iran, Korea and the terrorists will all be wild cards and the donks are going have to be quite wary of them, especially if they actually succeed in establishing back channel negotiations with Iran, as has been rumored. If they give the enemy courage and there are a lot of American casualties as a result, they will have some 'splaining to do. Personally, I trust the Iranians to make utter fools of them and brag about it, as they did with the Europeans.

I hope they read the right side of the net. Nothing could be better than to watch them second-guessing themselves for two years going into a Presidential campaign. Don't forget, there will be primaries and there are a lot of D contenders for the nomination. I hope to see much brutal D-on-D bashing. With the campaign for House leader, hopefully we will see lots of that immediately. I just saw the Evil Elf saying that the Democrats are united. Yeah, right. Since when? The very statement means they are at each other throats for a place at the trough. How many candidates for Leader are there now? Three?

...there will be no impeachment of President Bush.

I guess Conyers just figured out there's been no impeachable offense committed.

The next two years will be pork barrel hay-days. Not a single bill will be passed that doesn't have tons of juicey pork attached.

I guess you can select the best "leaders" according to how much pork they brought into their respective districts.

It will be interesting to see how many Republican senators and congressmen maintain Republican principles.
At the very least, '08 will be a good year to elect better, more principled Republicans, and to rid ourselves of Rhino's, and build a stronger party that won't be as weak knee'd, spinless and gutless as the current lineup.
