We do indeed live in interesting times.
I believe our resolve is about to be tested like it's never been tested before and I pray we're up for it.
The Democrats and the leftist media see this election as a mandate against the president and the war. They are about to pull out all the stops in their mission to totally demoralize the American people. If they succeed to the point we pull out of Iraq before the Iraqis are strong enough to defend themselves, I'm afraid it'll be the Killing Fields all over again. Only this time much much worse and much closer to home.
Praying we have the national resolve to resist the enemy within. Praying we maintain the will to continue the fight against the global jihadists. Our very right to survive as a nation and a free people depends on it.
Our president and our troops are going to need our prayers and support now more than ever.
God willing, America will survive!
We needed him to get our borders under control, so he wasn't exactly always there when we needed him. As for stabbing him in the back, where did you get that?
Bush is a good man. He is not a great man. In some ways he has been quite good, but in others he has been quite bad.
Impeachment is a deliberative process by a body of people who have been elected by the citizens of our nation. It is not something I want to see. I do believe it would be foolish. None the less, it is not treasonous.
As for starting a civil war over it, that would be the worst possible outcome.
Letting the Democrats make fools out of themselves would more likely destroy them than Bush.
Fine, let them change commanders-in-chief in the constitutional way, the presidential election. Until then they will have a say on financing the war, not on fighting it.
America has never faced an enemy like this before and never had to face enemies from within as vicious as the left before who are bent on destroying everything we hold dear.
What would be classic would be Cheney getting to offer up tie-breakers. He's the one guy the dems hate worse than Bush, and for the life of me I don't get why.
good guns, good reloaders and Free Republic,I'm in.
If being ignored is supposed to be some big deal, you've evidently already forgotten the last five and a half years.
I don't relish the dems being in control, but then I don't think the Rs took advantage while the sun shone, so here we are.
Let's see how timid the democrats are with implementing their agenda. Perpahps the Rs will learn a few things.
The Rs tried to moderate their plans in the interest of bipartisanship. You'll never hear that word again, I can guarantee you. Of course if you do, it will be lipservice only.
You see, the dems know what they want and they don't go catotonic at the risk of offending someone. They ram through what they want.
Think the dems will worry about signing to Kyoto? No, they'll do it. Think they'll hesitate to implement lots of global warming bull? No, they'll do it. Whatever they want, they'll do it.
Did we? LOL
It is mathematically possible that Webb will end up winning by 1 vote -- your vote. It is also possible that the Dems will control the Senate by 1 vote -- Webb's vote. This will mean no conservative Justices to replace Stevens and Ginsberg.
All because of you. The fact that you didn't mean for this to happen, is not relevant.
"The Moderates ran our party and ran it on the rocks. OK, just like in 1976 and 1992 time for the Conservatives to take back their party."
I agree...tired of the squishy middle...
What did he say?
Amen buddy.
I think the dims are going to figure out real quick that this war isn't something that you can just opt out of.
And Ditto, Amen Buddy!!!!
Best FReegards,

Excellent post MNJohnnie! We lost a battle and a painful one but you are right this is not the end of the war by no means. Yes indeed let us take this as a great opportunity to rebuild our party on conservative principles get new vibrant leadership for the GOP and we will win in the future. Lets stop debating our differences and fight anew concerning our commonalities... I also think our troops in the field will get wind of this as we pursue our rebirth and it will help give them hope as well. Thanks again DN.
Here is the solution for you. In 2008 settle for nothing less than a true conservative. Kick all the rinos out and that might get you somewhere.
Well folks, now we shall see. The people have spoken. Now we shall reap what we have sown.
Yes, we all survived the years of dummocrat control of the House and Senate. We may even survive this debacle. But I am not holding my breath. I barely scratch the 40,000/yr mark as far as salary and I know that my taxes will increase with these pathetic turds running the show in Washington.
Also, I can guarantee impeachment hearings against Bush. I also see a push to reinstate onerous gun control legislation. These will be trying times.
This change will lead to greater Dem wins in 2008, including, imo, the Presidency. And no, it won't be Hillary.
There is a reason why our founding fathers put the entire House of Representatives up for re-election every two years.
And we are seeing it. And we will see it again in two years.
Pelosi's little speech led me to believe that just about everyone has misinterpreted the outcome of this election and misinterpreted what the people were saying.
It sickens me to see that the Dems think they have a mandate on anything. They will find out otherwise.
ahhhh... the wisdom of our fore-fathers
I live in the deep south and we did our part. We elected Bob Corker to the Senate.
