Times like this, I have a real hard time understanding the "American electorate".

Easy, its 40/40/20. 40% conservative, 40 percent liberal, and 20 percent stupid. Politics is all about getting that 20 percent to vote with you. This time, we failed. Simple as that. Its not like there was a huge groundswell of idiocy, they just peeled off enough of the 20% to win this time. Most of the races were pretty close, some, razer close, we just lost them all unfortunately.

Heck, I'll take my 40% any day, and work for those 20% for the next round. We've fallen off our horse, gotta dust ourselvs off and start riding again. Its not as hard as it looks, heck, its not like this is Europe...

Well said, and right on. Just have to dust ourselves off. And, I am going to want my pubbies to be conservative. If I hear pundits say this is a loss for conservative values I will be happy because it is going to energize the base. Problem is, who is going to lead the base? I just don't listen to Rush any longer because he just blew it big time and lost validity. I am bored by Sean. Wonder who will be the new voice. V's wife.

I have not felt this sad in a long time. We sat on our laurels, and grew confident victory would not be served to the moonbats.. how could that happen? my only hope is we don't let our military down.

Hey, look at the bright side.

The RATS are going to spend the next two years locking up everything so nothing gets done.

Interesting comments concerning immigration, especially considering the large gastarbeiter population issue not only in Deutschland, but the rest of Europe. Enjoyed reading your home page.

I have openly been not feeling good about 08 since sometime in 04, when it became clear there was no clear cut choice, with any name recognition. It was a situation based on eggs in the 04 basket. Now of course there is a clear cut dem mandate to go along with the previous feelings, not to mention Bill Krystal thinks Al Gore is a shoe in for the dem nomination.

Hereafter, I will no longer refer to this nation as the USA, but rather, New France. "La Marseillaise," anyone?

True but we don't let their children become citizens.

Moreover, the answer to the question "What does an American look like?" is generally answered as "overweight and wearing sneakers." otherwise it is hard to generalize. And there are still 1 or 2 Americans who aren't fat.

In Germany, "What does a German look like?" can generally be answered with a reference to skin color.

That is an attitude which will change slowly, very slowly. Oh, and Germans are getting pretty fat too.

Yes, one of many stupid decisions made in error, by judges interpreting the Constitution instead of ruling on it.

Speaking of fat, that seems to be a common problem with peace and prosperity. War tends to solve the problem, except in the case of Der Dicke. Hope I spelled that correctly, Wasn't Der Dicke, Hermann Goering?

I was going to ask in my previous post, if you were German.

Hey, look at the bright side.

The RATS are going to spend the next two years locking up everything so nothing gets done.

And if they actually get hold of the Senate when the last two races are decided, that would include blocking ALL of Bush's judicial picks.

We only THOUGHT it was an uphill fight even when the GOP controlled the Senate .....

Oh, yeah, having Dems in control is really going to "fix" all those things. Right? /s

right leaning voters sent the GOP a message last night... get back on track, or your fired for good.

1946. This scenario has happened before and we survived.

People were a lot different in 1946. They had, you know, morals. And they were better educated as well.

Thank you for your organizing efforts. FWIW, I'm a vet and so are many of my relatives, mostly Navy and Marines. Grandfather was WWI (European Theater) Army.
