I fear the remaining Repubs will cave and bring pressure as well. I don't think there are too many fighters left on the Right side of the Aisle.

I know what you mean, but I don't think there will be enough caving GOP congressmen to override any vetoes. If Bush does veto something - or at least threaten and mean it - the congress won't be able to do anything too crazy.

"Cindy Sheehan and Code Pink won today."

Illustrating the ugliness of the win.

And glen beck. The republican defeat can be laid at the feet of the night time radio folks who want to teach republicans, george bush and God a lesson.

From an interview in 2000 with John Titor:

Does the current relationship between Arabs and Jews have anything to do with the coming war?

Real disruptions in world events begin with the destabilization of the West as a result of degrading US foreign policy and consistency. This becomes apparent around 2004 as civil unrest develops near the next presidential election. The Jewish population in Israel is not prepared for a true offensive war. They are prepared for the ultimate defense. Wavering western support for Israel is what gives Israel's neighbors the confidence to attack. The last resort for a defensive Israel and its offensive Arab neighbors is to use weapons of mass destruction. In the grand scheme of things, the war in the Middle East is a part of what's to come, not the cause.

Thank God Tim Pawlenty narrowly pulled ahead and was reelected Governor of Minnesota tonight -- just certified. Can you imagine the embarrassment of the GOP choosing Minneapolis-St Paul for the 2008 convention and the Governor having just lost?

I heard it, too. Perhaps something will come up on Drudge. They may have shut down the website updates and the announcements, but it's hard to believe they just walked away for the night. There may be activity going on that we're unaware of right now. If they shut down, or said they were shutting down or not making any further announcements, maybe they DID transpose some numbers and they're trying to straighten it out before saying anything further and making it worse?

I know what you mean, but he didn't say to go and vote for Democrats. He was talking about withholding support from the republicans by either staying home or voting for a third party.

That is not the same thing as voting for a democrat.

I don't believe the doomsayers' prognostications that Pelosi and Bush will manage to import 50+ million Dem voters from Mexico

Well, maybe not 50 million, but a massive amnesty plan seems almost inevitable now. Bush wants it. The Dems want it. Watch out.

I have to believe that many of Carson's votes are from dead voters haunting the polling places.

The executive branch is still in charge of foreign policy though so we should be ok with Iran and North Korea.

BTW, Steele, hasn't conceded due to a large number of uncounted absentee ballots.

Gosh. No kidding?

The reason people, including me, are treating you to snippy and sarcastic replies is this: every single thing you've posted on this thread is either obvious nonsense or was known to everybody hours ago. And it is irritating to be told wrong and obvious things by someone who likes to talk and doesn't listen.

The nightmare produced by Carter and the Dem congress of that time paved the way for Reagan, a true reformer.

If we can survive the next several years of foreign attacks, we might get real fiscal and entitlement reform. With luck, "compassionate conservatism", aka modest tax cuts and massive spending, is now dead, at least as a Republican election strategy.
