Promising Info From Jim Geraghty of NRO
National Review Online ^

Posted on 11/07/2006 2:04:58 PM PST by jokova

Live from CNN's Blogomania at Tryst 11/07 05:00 PM CNN's setup is wild - lots of folks whose faces you vaguely recognize, then lots of folks whose blog you recognize. Avarosis is here - whatever you think of his blog, he's a true gentlemen. He and Krempasky and Jerome Armstrong are all sitting near each other. They may talk to the bloggers around 7ish. Every indicator I have says the GOP base turned out. Whether that's enough to hold the House isnt clear; it ought to mean some good news in the Senate races. We're going to see what happens when the GOP base turns out in a tough year; if nothing else, the Republicans have pretty much shot the 40-50-60 seat gain talk all to hell.

Turnout in Virginia is way up; but they didn't have a very contested race in 2004, they did this year. Some precincts were at 80 percent of 2005 shortly after noon. The good news for Allen is that the turnout is as big in Southwest as in the Northern D.C. suburbs.

An exciting night ahead of us...

Thank should bring out some conservatives. The area around Williamsburg is a pretty shiny buckle of the Bible belt and the conservatives Christians are sure to show for that one.

Speaking of Schumer, I was in and out of the tv room and Schumer was sweating like crazy when Neil asked him about taxes. I wish I could remember what was said but I think it had to do with tax cuts/increases and Neil put Schumer on the spot.

Carl has always been a Dem hack. I have tried to tell some folks on here for years that Garrett is no friend of Republicans either with some of his stories that he doesn't get all the facts. Cameron has tried to depress Republican votes starting in 2000 when he breathlessly broke the DUI story against then Gov Bush. He was so excited.

As you can tell, I don't think much of Fox News reporters in the field then I do the rest of the MSM. All in the same class as far as I am concerned.

Send Bill Sammon in the field and then I might start believing their reporting when he agrees.

Yep. I want to hear about PA also, and of course, I have not heard a thing about my own state yet--AZ.

I think we'll hold the House. The Blue Wave? I haven't seen it.

The more they keep us down, they more we press on!

Turnout, I would love to hear from some serious GOTV folks about there efforts and=heavy turnout.

Exit polls are pure garbage. Back in 2004, they predicted a Kerry win. I wouldn't rely on them until all the actual votes are counted. Whether or not the GOP holds the House will depend on turnout, turnout and turnout. We'll see if the GOTV effort staves off some of those predicted House losses.

"..I can't 'go figure.' It makes no sense. Is Carl & Major becoming a dem backer or was it a case of them not having the data we have now?"
I don't know about Carl... but Major has acted like a DEM cheerleader lately!!! Very strange. The guy boasted on Laura Ingraham's show that Republican (he was so sure of the internal poll he got) will LOSE AT LEAST 50 SEATS!!! Talking about acting like a DEM cheerleader and a jerk.

Liberals are moving in everywhere. I don't think that turns the South Blue but it could make Virginia Purple.

I don't know how the moderate repubs will feel about this development... sure, they maintain control of the congress, but they lose a perfectly good whipping boy:)

Too bad. I remember Carl being the "man" in 2000 with the Bush/Gore election. He seemed almost giddy at calling all the pubbie results and wins.(maybe that 2004)(or both)
