Tell us what you saw today at your voting place.
We have the optical scan voting machine. We line up arrows using a permanent marker, then run the card through the machine. I was voter #1041 in our precinct, which is usually fairly Republican, strangely, for this Central MA town. I didn't have to wait at all, though we went about 4:45 pm so that we'd miss the after work crowd.
Now that's voting!
That's the only way I've ever voted since the *ahem* late 70s. I'll probably be thrown off if I have to vote another way. LOL

The Westgate precienct (quite Republican) here in the Mount Vernon area of Fairfax County, Virginia has had presidential election turnout numbers. The heavily Democrat preciencts turnout is running a bit behind.

I successfully completed an affidavit ballot. I voted against hillary and against Alan Hevesi. Yay.
I voted early as well. The lines were longer than in the Bush-Kerry election.
I think early voting favors the rats. Lots of retired and apparently unemployed folks in there.

I voted in Anoka county, a red county that voted for Pres. Bush 53%-47%. People up here are pretty conservative, so I expect our numbers to show well for the GOP. As for the rest of the People's Republic of MN, I can't be as optimistic, but one never knows. With the influence of the local media (print and TV) and their love for the Dums, we may be mistaken that all is lost for the GOP.
I voted with no line, no waiting. No ID required, of course, they all know me by name.....LOL.

I felt the same way, hopeful at least that the people in my area have brains and common sense. If only the rest of the state were the same way.
Someone on the TV just referred to Bob Menendez here in NJ as "Mob" Menendez. Very apropos. What a joke this state is.
Glastonbury was easy with no long lines this morning. We used the old machines and they were dependable except Lieberman was on the very bottom line and for me 6'3" it was hard to find but for my wife 5'3" it was at eye level. She had to reach up to get to the Rpublicans.
LOL... did you hear the ads with Lieberman telling voters to look for him 'way down' on the bottom of the ballot? My husband and I voted straight R, except for Lieberman. I hope to see Schlesinger run against Dodd... I'll vote for him then.
I was talking to the Chairman of the Dem. Party here in Glastonbury. He had been at the debate and was high on Schlesinger. Said he did the best but then he had nothing to lose. I'm hoping Kevin O'Connor runs rather than becoming a Federal Judge.
Same situation for me - old fashioned machines and a relatively short time in line. Kind of nice, actually. 'Course I was getting to the polls after everyone was getting out of work, so that may have been a factor, as well.
Voting machine fails in 26th District raceWESTPORT -- By 11 p.m. on election night, there was no clear winner in the state Senate race for the 26th District, after a voting machine in one town failed to record Republican votes, according to a campaign worker.
It was a disappointing night for both candidates vying to represent the 26th District, which includes Bethel, Redding, Ridgefield, New Canaan, Weston, Westport and Wilton.
