"...to force Saddam to stand before the court as, visibly trembling, the former strongman attempted to shout down the verdict. Make him stand, barked Judge Rahman, as Saddam begged the guards: Don't bend my arms. Don't bend my arms. "
Sad-am doesn't sound so tough anymore. I hope the hanging is televised.

Thirty days? That long?
Remember, Ramsey Clark had injected himself in this case. The judge presiding over the trial of Saddam Hussein and seven others on charges of crimes against humanity ejected former U.S. attorney general Ramsey Clark, part of an international defense team, from the court. The next step for the defense will be to challenge the authority of the court to even try the case.
With luck, Saddam could still be restored to power in Iraq. Ramsey would like that.
The power of love.

" If an automatic review of the death sentence fails, the former strongman will hang within 30 days "
FNF airheads are hopefully/wistfully talking about "Looonnnng appeals process"...
I hope this article is closer to the truth -- get this over with and move on.....

Why wait? That would give his buddies time to create all sorts of havoc, including trying to break him out of jail. Let's just get it over with.

So will the Democrats say this is a good thing or a bad thing? Or try to ignore it?

Is there a hanging proplem here?

The MSM is reporting this with deep sadness, then they give a glee of hope when they report that his appeal could take up to a year. Unbelievable!

keep in mind that people involved in the trial
have been murdered.
I would think a LOT of people would want the sentence
carried out as soon as possible,
just for their own safety.

I was watching Fox News around 6 this morning as the live feed was on. I couldn't help laughing as they repeatedly showed one scene of the crowd cheering and this guy comes past, totally numb like, then when he sees the camera, raises his arms in celebration. They kept showing this same man.
Ah, skip it, ya had to be there. I'm still having my morning coffee and trying to wake up again.
It's just when I saw him, over and over, I thought that he ranks up there with Looter Guy, Tourist Guy and the rescue guy in Lebanon.
