Illegal immigrant from Albania dies in crash (Texas)

FALFURRIAS, Texas Authorities say a 21-year-old illegal immigrant from Albania died in South Texas after his S-U-V rolled over following a ten-mile chase.
The Department of Public Safety says eleven passengers in the Suburban were injured in yesterday's crash -- four Hondurans, four Albanians and three Salvadorans.
D-P-S says the chase began near Falfurrias when officers tried to pull over the vehicle for going 55 in a 45 mile-an-hour zone. The S-U-V sped off. The driver escaped on foot after the crash.
The injured passengers were taken to hospitals.
They're expected to be deported.

Hmmmm, foreign involvement joining the Islamists or foreign involvement to save Somalia - which one does the UN want to halt and why are they not putting a stop to this takeover? Because they are useless or because most members have a pro-Islamic agenda? Both?

Hugo Chavez threatens private television stations for behavior in electoral campaign (Translation)

Chavez threatens private television stations with closure
Caracas. - President Hugo Chavez warned Friday that he is disposed to close those television channels who lend themselves to spreading messages of "hate" and non-recognition of the authorities during the December 3 election campaign, AP reported.
"A television channel which lends itself to the spreading of the messages of terrorism, of hate, of war, or calling for the non-recognition of the authorities, it has to be closed," Chavez declared during an event held with sympathizers on the Island of Margarita.
Chavez denounced that "new destabilizing plans" existed for the next elections in which he will seek re-election.
The Chief Executive indicated, without citing names or proof, that there were some media and business sectors who would be in favor of destabilizing plans.
He urged on civil employees, prosecutors, and the National Armed Forces that "we are taking the lead and we must fulfill the laws," and take action against those sectors who would be supporting these acts.
"We are not going to permit Venezuela to run with blood again," the President indicated after recounting the events of April 2002 which removed him from government for two days.
"I am not myself obliged to take drastic actions because I have no thoughts of any type except safeguarding the sovereignty and stability of the country," Chavez added.
Chavez reiterated that the Venezuelan military has to be identified with his political project. "The Venezuelan armed forces has to be "red/light red," patriotic to the marrow, he made clear.
INTERNET-HAGANAH.com: "UN SACRIFICIO POR LA CAUSA DE ALLAH" (ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Since we first reported on Hizballah's Latin American offspring, it appeared to be a strictly Venezuelan phenomenon. Since then, however, new shoots have sprung up in El Salvador and in Chiapas in southern Mexico. To say that these folks are not "real Hizballah" is true to a point. We are used to thinking of Hizballah as a strictly-controlled entity of Lebanese origin operating at the behest of the Iranian regime. It is possible that no one is more surprised than Hizballah Lebanon to learn that they have given rise to Latin American affiliates, but they have. If there is one thing Iran and Hizballah could use right now, it's operatives who are not Iranian, not Lebanese, not obviously Arab or Persian - people who are more likely to be able to travel below the radar. Guys like this (sans the bomb - we're sure the Revolutionary Guards can hook the brother up with something more effective when he gets to his final destination): There is no reason to think anything good will come from all this.") China to offer nuclear plants to Pakistan

"China to offer nuclear plants to Pakistan"
Chris Buckley (Reuters)
Beijing, November 16, 2006|13:17 IST
ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Chinese President Hu Jintao is poised to unveil an ambitious expansion of nuclear power cooperation with Pakistan when he visits next week, testing China's balance between Pakistan and its wary neighbour, India.
On the first trip to Pakistan by a Chinese president in a decade, Hu is likely to announce that China will help the South Asian nation construct several nuclear plants in coming decades, said analysts and diplomatic sources.
"The political intent is quite certain. The specifics are less certain, but this will be a political gesture above all," said one diplomatic observer in Beijing. He spoke on condition of anonymity, citing the official secrecy around discussions.
Islamabad has asked China to build it up to six reactors of 600 or more megawatts, at least twice the size of the 300 megawatt reactor China built at Chashma in Pakistan's eastern province of Punjab, according to the observer.
The broad deal appears likely, however, to leave the scale and specifics of cooperation for future talks -- and also leave open whether China, with its own bold plans for expanding nuclear power, can spare the expertise to back Pakistan's expansion.
But even a vague agreement will remind the world that China values its "all-weather friend" Pakistan, even while Beijing courts India, a sometimes bitter rival of both countries. Hu will visit India before Pakistan.
"Pakistan has been eager for a nuclear deal and raised it a number of times," said Zhang Li of the Institute of South Asian Studies at Sichuan University in southwest China.
"I think there are signs that Hu will make an announcement during this visit to show relations are developing in a healthy direction."
India and Pakistan both staged nuclear explosions in 1998 and have refused to join the Non-Proliferation Treaty (NPT) that would oblige them to give up atomic weapons.
An announcement during Hu's visit would cap intense lobbying from Islamabad, eager to expand nuclear ties with Beijing and offset India's influence and US-backed nuclear energy plan.
Last year, India signed an atomic energy pact with the United States that Congress is now studying, but Washington rebuffed Islamabad's efforts to reach a similar agreement.
Pakistan has been keen to show that it does not lack other sources of support."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Chahhou, who also teaches Arabic at a religious school affiliated with the Islamic Association of Cary, told WRAL in a telephone interview that students got the wrong message from the assignment.
"When I made the assignment, I was upset and angry about a story I recently saw on the news. If any message appears, it is more of a message to myself, not to my students. I never meant to hurt or upset any students or parents," he said."
Snip: SMITHFIELD, N.C. -- A Spanish teacher at Smithfield-Selma Senior High School resigned this week after handing out an assignment that some students and parents said teaches hate.
Khalid Chahhou, who was in his first year of teaching in Johnston County, gave students a worksheet in which they were to translate words and find them within a word-search puzzle.
Some students started uncovering strange words in the process.
"There were words like 'kill,' then I saw it said 'destroy America,'" Eric Herrera said.
As they read on, students found the puzzle contained a paragraph that contained the following phrases:
"Sharon killed a lot of innocent people," a possible reference to former Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon.
"Palestine is not a terrorist group."
"Allah help destroy this body of evil making humanity miserable."
Yep, teacher with a really, really bad attitude -- to say the least. (Total understatement.)
Well now, this is NOT nice.
