We do indeed live in interesting times.
I believe our resolve is about to be tested like it's never been tested before and I pray we're up for it.
The Democrats and the leftist media see this election as a mandate against the president and the war. They are about to pull out all the stops in their mission to totally demoralize the American people. If they succeed to the point we pull out of Iraq before the Iraqis are strong enough to defend themselves, I'm afraid it'll be the Killing Fields all over again. Only this time much much worse and much closer to home.
Praying we have the national resolve to resist the enemy within. Praying we maintain the will to continue the fight against the global jihadists. Our very right to survive as a nation and a free people depends on it.
Our president and our troops are going to need our prayers and support now more than ever.
God willing, America will survive!

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "A Seattle man believed to be the county's most prolific car thief pleaded guilty Tuesday in King County Superior Court to 25 counts of first-degree theft.
Over a six-month period, Liam Moynihan, 23, admitted to stealing 136 vehicles, prosecutors said.
By pleading guilty to 25 counts, Moynihan puts himself at the maximum sentence range of 43 to 57 months behind bars. King County Prosecutor Norm Maleng will seek an exceptional 10-year prison term at Moynihan's sentencing next month."

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "BRIDGETOWN, Barbados (AP) - A breed of giant, ravenous snails that first appeared in Barbados five years ago has thrived on the tropical island, destroying crops and prompting calls for the government to eliminate the slimy pests.
A nocturnal "snail hunt" last weekend reported finding hundreds of thousands of giant African snails swarming the central parish of St. George, the country's agricultural heartland where farmers had complained of damage to crops including sugar cane, bananas and papayas."

This Travel Warning updates security information for Yemen. This supersedes the Travel Warning for Yemen issued April 13, 2006.
The Department of State continues to strongly urge U.S. citizens to consider carefully the risks of traveling to Yemen. The security threat level remains high due to terrorist activities in Yemen, and Americans in Yemen are urged to exercise caution and take prudent measures to maintain their security.
The Department remains concerned about possible attacks by extremist individuals or groups against U.S. citizens, facilities, businesses and perceived interests. On February 3, 2006, 23 convicts, including known affiliates of al-Qa'ida, escaped from a high-security prison in the capital city, Sanaa. Among the al-Qa'ida associates were individuals imprisoned for their roles in the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole and the 2002 attack on the French oil tanker Limburg. In the weeks following the escape, some prisoners voluntarily turned themselves in to authorities; to date however, many escapees remain at large. Two of the escapees were killed in vehicle-based suicide attacks on oil facilities near Mukalla and Marib on September 15. Those attacks were followed by the arrest the next day in Sanaa of four suspected Al Qa’ida operatives, who had stockpiled explosives and weapons.
U.S. citizens in Yemen should exercise caution and take prudent measures to maintain their security. Maintain a high level of vigilance, avoid crowds and demonstrations, keep a low profile, vary times and routes for all travel, and ensure travel documents are current. U.S. citizens who remain in or travel to Yemen despite this Travel Warning should register at the Consular Section of the U.S. Embassy in Sanaa and enroll in the warden system (emergency alert network) in order to obtain updated information on travel and security in Yemen. This can be done online at https://travelregistration.state.gov/ibrs.
The U.S. Embassy in Sanaa advises American citizens in Yemen to exercise particular caution at locations frequented by foreigners countrywide and at restaurants and hotels frequented by expatriates. Americans who believe they are being followed or threatened while driving in urban centers should proceed as quickly as possible to the nearest police station or major intersection and request assistance from the officers in the blue-and-white police cars stationed there. Occasionally, U.S. Government personnel in Yemen may be prohibited from traveling to sections of Sanaa or other parts of Yemen. The Yemeni government also restricts travel to specified areas by U.S. citizens and other Westerners from time to time. Travelers should be in contact with the Embassy for up-to-date information on such restrictions.

The Embassy was informed on November 7, 2006 of a number of cases of Maoists approaching American residents and businesspeople in Kathmandu demanding housing for Maoist cadre. The Embassy is extremely concerned about this matter, and has already lodged a complaint with the Government of Nepal.
The Embassy urges American citizens to inform us immediately if you are approached by Maoists demanding housing for their cadre, or for any other assistance. (Please contact the Consular Section at 444-5577 ext. 4414 during working hours or the Embassy at 441-1179 ext. 0 during non-working hours -- ask for the Duty Officer. Americans can also send an email to wardenktm@state.gov.) The Embassy will keep this information confidential, but, with your permission, will raise specific cases with the Government of Nepal in hopes of stopping this behavior. (It is our experience that raising specific cases of human rights and other abuses with the authorities and with the human rights community has had an ameliorating affect on the abusive behavior.)

The addressees include the Linz author Monika H., who discussed the situation of Muslims women in Austria in her award-winning study "Veiled Environments." Whereas the Islamist community expressed support for the 34-year-old ethnologist, her website was removed from the Internet on Thursday (26 October). The call for acts of violence was discovered by the Middle East Media Research Institute (Memir), which monitors the communications channels in the media of the Islamists worldwide.
The owners of two Internet forums http://www.zeit-wort.at/ also received death threats.
The Federal Office for the Protection of the Constitution and Fight Against Terrorism (BVT) has started to investigate the authors of the threats. Police offered protection to the Linz author, but she rejected it.
