DOHA, Qatar (AP) -

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "Al-Jazeera's taboo-smashing newscasts regularly vex politicians in Washington, but not nearly as much as they anger leaders in the Arab world, where the news channel has been banned from operating in 18 countries at one time or another.

Now, the network is launching its biggest gamble on its 10th anniversary - an English-language channel with an Arab perspective. Al-Jazeera International plans to hit the airwaves Nov. 15 and hopes to steal viewers from CNN and the BBC."

"Bush’s sins are back to haunt him"
11/8/2006 9:30:00 AM GMT

ARTICLE SNIPPET: "The political world that President Bush inhabited for the last six years -- the one he ruled, has just come to an end.

After his Party’s disgraceful defeat in the U.S. Congressional mid-term elections, President George W. Bush, who labeled Iraq, Iran and North Korea together as an "axis of evil" nearly five years ago, is likely to face mounting pressure from his policy critics who say the three countries he targeted have instead become an "axis of failure" born of his and the Republicans’ mistakes.

The Democrats won 218 seats, enough to control the House, and were leading for another 15, which give them 233. Republicans, on the other hand only won 176 and were leading in another 26, which would give them 202.

The mid-term poll results are a sign of things to come for the 2008 presidential elections.

Weakened by his Party loss, President Bush will find himself struck in his failing policies and doctrines he announced following September 11 attacks on the U.S. more than five years ago. Policies that focused mainly on isolating what he classified as "rogue states.""
